MotoGP » Scott Redding - Q&A

I saw some stuff posted on here today after a sort of highlights show of an interview was written on here and Scott got a bit of stick. I'm glad the full interview is out now and people can see how well balanced Scott is as an individual. He is a great talent, there will be those who doubt but i do not. He used to beat Marquez back in the Spanish champioship, Marquez also used to beat him. Reality is that Marquez has had the backing and been given the best of kit throughout his time in the paddock...including having the rookie rule abolished in GP's when he came on the scene. Scott has not had that and he even had a 3rd rate aprilia when he won as the youngest ever rider (which will never be beaten given the agee limit now). I am not bagging Marquez, fair play to him but let's not pretend Scott has had it as easy. Love watching #93 race, he is awesome....but my flag will always be #45 and time will tell but i am confident in his ability to take it to the top boys if he gets the kit

F1 » Rosberg: ‘There are some very strange things going on’

What really surprised me was the fact that Lewis was faster AND used less fuel. At the start of the season i felt fuel management would be a bigger issue for Lewis given his attacking driving style (no need to highlight his attacks in Canada lol). woulda coulda shoulda wonders how it might have panned out in Oz if both cars had maintained reliability. Plenty of the season left to find out i spose.

F1 » Williams drivers still disagree over team orders

Gotta say i agree that Massa should of let Bottas by on the fresher tyres, i think he could have caught Button if the order had been adhered to immediately. Once he got stuck behind Felipe for a few laps it was all over bar getting past his team mate so the benefit for the team was then null and void. The biggest problem was how the order was heard over the radio which harked back to Alonso at Hockenheim. It should and could have been put a different way..had they done so the Felipe might have moved over but that radio message was a red rag to a bull so they sort of got what they deserved in the end.

MotoGP » Espargaro: I could have stayed with leaders

Codger: It's a modern thing, with these youngsters. Jorge was encouraged to write his biography when he was barely out of nappies. Cal has always said what he could achieve if only..... Scott says he could beat certain people if he had their bikes etc. etc. It's a mixture of the foolishness we all have during our youth (I've still got mine), supreme confidence, and the manipulation of the Media. Just take a look at misleading 'headlines', riders answers being printed out of context, and so on. I say leave the lads to get on with the job in hand and we'll all see who makes the grade, in what is, after all, a far from level playing field. After all do we want them all to say " I'm not aiming to get in the points", "Sod it, I'll probably come last" ?
Very well said. Here's the thing about #41 (weird it not being Nori under that number but hey-ho life moves on), anyone who doubts his talent only needs to look at where the other bike is running with Edwards on

F1 » Malaysian Grand Prix - Race results

well done to the top 3, seems if the merc is going to stay reliable nobody else will get a look in. impressed with rbr getting that car to where it is in terms of a podium given their awful pre-season, however, the mercs are just taking it pretty easy, plain for all to see. if lewis of nico wins the title then claims of the fastest car much like seb will follow in the wake of any glory :) as for the spectacle....pretty dull and uninspiring tbh. whenever there is a big change in the rules the grid tends to spread out a bit and this year is no difference....i really really miss the noise as well. we didn't even get the excitement of weather throwing a spanner into the works. days are long gone of me getting up early for the races since the boy was born, i was happy to get a lie in and watch on catch up for the last two

MotoGP » Crutchlow: 'Lorenzo style' doesn't work on Ducati

Jim Clausen:
Cubikrube: If racers didn't copy each others styles (or parts thereof) then only one person would have ever got their knee down, elbow down etc etc in history. Cal will still be riding like Cal but he'll be learning from others as to how to ride a certain bike better. Bloody hard task on that Duke as other riders have shown but he's made his choice so let's just hope it works out
I think what some are saying is that Cal should aspire to be more like the one who first put a knee down, rather than copying the one who first put a knee down.
I agree mate, just a couple not taking into account that ALL riders learn from each other....if riding it like J-Lo makes the Yam fast then you do it. Nobody since Stoner has made the Duke fast enough and i don't believe that the bike is all that similar now anyway so Cal will have to find his own way with it :)
