MotoGP » Rossi: I don’t regret joining Ducati

I make this point any time Rossi and Ducati is brought up - his initial race pace on that thing was actually fairly impressive and not at all far off Stoners from the previous year. As soon as they did the radical revamp things went downhill and never came back up. Preziosi has said that had they stuck with the original GP11 he would have finished a lot higher up in the championship but they had to take the gamble on developing it.

MotoGP » Rossi: I don’t regret joining Ducati

Brain I mean the first 4 or 5 races that year. He ran with Spies on the M1 at Qatar for a chunk of the race and battled with Dovi on the HRC for a few races in the dry too. Thats' the Dovi that everyone says was under rated and is such a top rider these days. And dont pretend the Ducati improved between Stoner getting off and Rossi getting on. They made the least progress of any manufacturer, there was nothing they could improve on that bike with the way it was set up. Fact is Stoner was off the podium for most of 2010 and Rossi was finishing 5th in 2011 with an extra Repsol on the grid. So my initial point stands.

MotoGP » MotoGP Silverstone - Race Results

Rossi did a faster lap than Jorge that has to be mildly pleasing and does back up his view he burned up the rear tyre too much early on. He said they made changes at Brno to prolong tyre life but had to revert to old settings to get on the pace here so maybe at misano he can at least get closer, home race and all. Ducati used to go well here with Nicky so I wouldn't get too excited about their pace.

MotoGP » Smith ready to fight for Tech 3 seat

Say what you want about Cal landing one of the best bikes on the grid next year but at least he has proven his race pace on numerous occasions. Bradley on the other hand just hasn't, not once can I recall him fighting for the positions that bike is capable of. He seems to move about far too much on the bike, something that Pol figured out and corrected early in the season. He is better off going to moto2 and gearing himself up for an assault on the championship.

MotoGP » Cal Crutchlow stays at Ducati

In the few normal races he has had he only finished a few seconds behind dovi in france and a second behind in germany, race pace ain't that terrible I guess. As much as he puts his foot in it sometimes I do find Cal a likeable character and if Ducati give him a much improved bike next year he will have no problems running near the best of rest spot behind the top 4.
