MotoGP » Moto3 Jerez - Race Results

Fair play to Binder it was a fantastic ride, but he really shouldn't have won that race. On two occasions he overtook under yellow flags and when bridging the gap to the front 3 he was all over the blue paint on the outside of the kerbs, something race direction said they were going to be watching closely. Poor consistency from race direction.

MotoGP » Official: Jorge Lorenzo joins Ducati

The thing that will bother me with this is if Lorenzo wins on the Ducati all the Rossi haters will be out in force trying to slate a 9 time world champion by saying he can't be that good because he never won on the Ducati. They seem to forget that without Rossi's involvement Ducati would not be in the position it is now, it was Rossi's shortfall that led to the major reshuffle with in the factory and their current success.

F1 » Ecclestone stirs controversy with latest women in F1 comments

benignlyindifferent: I do not wish to see a woman in F1 just because she is female. This will do women a disservice. But I suspect there are more young women in karting etc. today and we are only a few years away from a worthy female or two making it to F1.
There's a young talent that's just been invited to come and race in Europe in the CIK FIA Karting Academy, her name is Hamda al Qubaisi and she's the daughter of Khaled al Qubaisi who races in the World Endurance Championship. It'd be great to see her rise through the ranks, I just hope Ecclestone is still alive to see it and be proven wrong.

F1 » Ecclestone stirs controversy with latest women in F1 comments

SkidCarrera: This doesn't need to be said, as the evidence from 65 seasons of F1 world championships is that women don't have the necessary attributes to compete at the highest level in the sport. Whether it's physical strength, mental approach, or something else is irrelevant.
When you look at everything that's involved in getting into F1 it's no surprise that there isn't any female racers. The starting pool of women in car racing is vastly smaller than the amount of males that try their hand at it. For every 1 female competitor I bet there's 70 males. When you take in to account the costs involved in car racing plus the underlying misogyny running through motorsport paddocks the world over it's very unsurprising a female racer has never achieved success in F1 and that's a real shame.

F1 » FEATURE: There are subs... and then there are super subs

FlyingKiwi: And Jean-Pierre Jarier, getting the call from Lotus after Ronnie Peterson's death, setting fastest lap in US GP and running out of fuel, then taking pole and leading in Canada before the car broke down.
They can't include Jarier because, as it says at the start of the article, "This list compiles substitutes, not replacements... definition being they returned their seats." Jarier couldn't return his seat because of Peterson's death.

MotoGP » Marquez out to defend perfect record in USA

Realist: Funny that you took that from Rossi's countenance. I didn't get that impression at all. You are reading way too deeply into things. He didn't look bitter or tense, nor did he look like he was on edge. He merely looked about as equally unaffected about Marquez as Marquez did about him. Neither of them paid the other any attention.
Couldn't agree more, especially with the podium. It was the same in parc ferme, not friendly but everyone was civil and got through it. @Garcia From my understanding the only thing Rossi was angry about was his bike swap in the pits and his own lack of speed on the second bike, something which he admitted during the interview in parc ferme, he also mentioned he was quite relieved and realised how lucky he was to be on the podium.

MotoGP » Marquez out to defend perfect record in USA

2725: The positions of the next Repsol Honda (and the satellite Hondas) in Qatar and Argentina, I think, give an indication of just how far Marquez is dragging that bike up the grid.
Like him or not, Marquez has done extremely well at the start of this season to say the least. But these first 3 rounds have a history of giving false impressions...Dovizioso last year for example, challenged for the win in the first 3 races and then never really got close for the remainder of the season. I'd wait until we've had 3 or 4 races back in Europe before being so sure of his and the Honda's pace.

MotoGP » Marquez out to defend perfect record in USA

Avatar: Absolutely loves COTA.....as it is a circuit which has historically been difficult for the Yamaha, it's a great chance for him to extend his lead in the championship. Go Marc!!!!!
I think 'struggled' is a strong word... 2015 - Rossi 3rd, 3.1 seconds behind Marquez 2014 - Bridgestone had a bad batch of medium fronts that caused a lot of riders to fall or slow dramatically in lap times including Rossi, Lorenzo jump start and ride through 2013 - Lorenzo 3rd, 3.3 seconds behind Marquez
