MotoGP » Bradley Smith: Nothing yet for 2015

Brain: You tell us what Bradley accomplished on the racetrack that warranted him being rewarded the 5th best bike in the world.
It was Bradley's approach and understanding of how to extract the most, if not more, from the Mistral610 in Moto2 that earned him that ride. Poncheral was mightily impressed with his perforamnces in Moto2, sadly like quite a few he just can't make that final leap in MotoGP. Too many people take Bradleys performance in Moto2 at face value, they don't appreciate what went on behind the scenes in the garage.

MotoGP » Bradley Smith: Nothing yet for 2015

KnowNothing: He achieved a grand total of 0 wins or podiums the year before he went to GP, and a staggering 0 wins and 3 podiums the year before that. Add these up and you get an amazing 0 wins and 3 podiums in Moto2 out of 34 races. Heady stuff! Now that's a good CV to get you a near factory ride.
Anyone with an ounce of knowledge knows that to get 3 podiums on that Mistral610 was an incredible achievement. That bike was and will never win a race unless it has heavy backing brought into the project. You're quite obviously a Smith hater. I know you get it quite often on here, but nevertheless your user name really is ideal for your posts.

MotoGP » Stefan Bradl: Honda, Ducati, Aprilia - or Moto2?

therealDave: I would risk a season on Ant West. He impressed me when on Kwaka back in 2007/8 (I think) and the LCR is far more competitive in relation to the factories compared to the kwaka back then. He is doing well in Moto2 given his kit.
With all due respect to Westy, he's not good enough for a ride of that calibre at LCR. I agree he has been impresive and consistant in Moto2 this season, but he doesn't know how to get the most out of a bike setup. A friend of mine worked with MZ and their Moto2 project in 2011 and said that West cannot relay the information to extract that last bit from the bike, when he went fast in the dry it was usually down to his engineer applying a setup for West to try.

shpongled: I imagine kallio and Elias also planned a '1 year' run in moto2! They say if you leave motogp you don't get back in, which appears to be the case.....
Elias did go back to MotoGP with LCR the year after he went back to the intermediate class... Also you don't know what Kallio has been offered since returning to Moto2, why would you leave a team you can win with to return to MotoGP with a tail end/midfield team such as Avintia or Pramac repectively

MotoGP » Bradley Smith: Nothing yet for 2015

I'm a fan of Smith and I stand by him but from the last 18 months he's shown he's good, but just not quite able to make that final little leap in setup. I could quite easily see Esteve Rabat (a Monster Energy sponsored rider) stepping into Smiths Tech3 spot to join P.Espargaro for 2015. However I also think Suzuki would be smart to consider Bradley with helping develop their new GP project alongside E.Laverty or A.Espargaro.

MotoGP » Rossi: I have a long history with Jorge!

JimmyTheRealOne: My hope is that he does NOT sign and goes to Ducati instead. Ducati is a challenge. Yamaha is a boring fat blue bike with the same rider lineup since 2008. Yaawn!
Do you understand Motorsports? When a team has a successful, long term line up they don't think "Well I imagine the fans are getting bored. I know we'll sack off one of our proven race winners and world champions that brings in massive marketing benefits for our company and our sponsors, and we'll take a risk on someone who has never ridden a GP bike in their life"

MotoGP » Lorenzo and Yamaha: One or two years?

Braaahp: Prototype running teams should look towards exciting new talent rather than running riders such as Bradl who will never mix it with the big 4
I like Bradl, he's very fast but not the fastest. Bradl was one of the young riders that was given a chance and seen as a bit of a risk and personally I think he better than Bautista. It doesn't happen often but I'd like to see a bit of an F1 approach here in the form of a young driver style test period of 2 or 3 days. It would be good to see one bike from each team used to support a young rider so you could see a Jonas Folger on a Repsol Honda or a Luis Salom on a Tech 3 Yamaha. It wouldn't have to be a case of signing the rider but a test to show the paddock they have the potential to ride a GP bike and help the riders career.

MotoGP » Dani Pedrosa re-signs for Honda

For people who say that Dani shouldn't have been resigned and that Honda are boring for not taking a risk...why should they? They have 2 riders that are in the top 4 fastest in the world, both their riders have finished every race well in the points, they have taken 14 of a possible 16 podiums and are currently 1st and equal 2nd in the world championship. There is no reason for change from a riders view, team view, manufacturer view or sponsor view, therefore no need for a risk to be made.
