F1 » Ferrari debuts 'halo' cockpit protection concept

I think I'm the only person that's really opposed to this. I certainly don't want to see another driver die, but motorsport is dangerous. That's what makes it the thrilling sport we love, but also, that's what makes it fun...especially for competitors. Folks saying put a cockpit on, that's not the answer, what if the car ends up on it's 'roof'? How will the driver get out in an emergency? You've then got to change the design to include doors, before you know it you've essentially got an LMP1 car. In my eyes if you're an open wheeled driver and you're not willing to put your life at risk whilst racing around at 180mph then you need to stop participating in the sport.

MotoGP » Hamilton: Rossi is incredible, I need to try a MotoGP bike

PaulW54: That is a photo taken when JB was Rossi's crew chief, not a modern photo. Hamilton probably made his comments at the same time, he may well have changed his opinion after Rossi's disgraceful behavior at the end of last season. Same with how he gave JB the boot.
Almost as disgraceful as Marquez' behaviour. With the exception of Pedrosa, none of the top 4 came out smelling of roses after the last 3 races of 2015. They all played their part, however people like you are only interested in pinning Rossi up as the criminal. Quite ironic when you consider the large list of incidents Marquez has caused in his much shorter career.

F1 » Ferrari debuts 'halo' cockpit protection concept

MaddMe: You cannot compare fatalities that have occurred beyond the last 10 years as there has been a considerable number of safety changes in Motorsport over the last 20 years...
I'm stunned 4 people disagree with you on this! There has been unbelievable progress made in helmet safety, even in the last decde - 15 years. Not to mention the safety of cockpit designs and the level of head exposure when the driver is in the cockpit.

MotoGP » Rossi ‘already in race mode’

Neal: I doubt Jorge will win his first title, without Stonor or Rossi breaking their leg or the gift from Marc Marquez.
I have to disagree with your "first title" title comment, injuries are part and parcel of racing, sometime you're lucky and injury impacts your competitor, sometimes it's the rider himself (Lorenzo 2013 with the 2 collarbone breaks). However, last year's title is hollow to say the least.

MotoGP » Lorenzo: Expect surprises in the race

Did anyone see that Lorenzo and Aoyama (on Marquez' bike) were running winglets. If you get the chance have a look for the Yamaha ones, they look ridiculous due to their large size. Also, I saw an image of Pecco Bagnaia's Mahindra Moto3 bike at Jerez yesterday with winglets on. Can't imagine what they're for, highly doubt it's to stop the front from coming up on those super powerful 55bhp bikes!

MotoGP » Qatar MotoGP test times - Wednesday (Final)

ZeFrenchAngle: the nearest Honda, Cal, over a second behind Jorge.
Worrying for Honda at the minute. I read a fair few tweets from various journo's and riders saying that Honda, especially Repsol, can't get the front or the rear to grip on any of the compounds available. The most alarming thing about that is that Honda are running different chassis for Marquez and Pedrosa and they're still struggling for a competitive setup.
