I'm going to say it, I think Dovi is a little over rated. Before you reply calling me a hater or dive for the disagree button allow me to explain. He's a very good rider, but he's not got the killer instinct of the elite riders of recent times - Stoner, Lorenzo, Pedrosa and Rossi. Dovi is very good at riding at an incredible speed yet remaining within the limits of control. I whipped up a spreadsheet just to compare Dovi against the factory riders over the seasons in which he's scored a MotoGP podium (2008-2012, 2014) and of Dovi's 24 MotoGP podiums 20 of them have come through the misfortune of other riders or riders returning from injury. All that said, you have to be in it to win it and he is an amazing talent. Let me know what you think.

MotoGP » Eugene Laverty: Opportunity knocks

biaggi: He will fight for 20th position with Melandri and De angelis. He has not the skills to be competitive in motogp. Aspar choose Laverty because he was the only one to accept a ridiculous salary
I think an official MotoGP legend knows a little more about hiring somone to compete in his team, on his motorcycle and represent his sponsors at an international level than you do.

MotoGP » MotoGP Star of the Year vote: 3rd

Yearby23: These polls are pretty pointless as the championship standings tell me all I need to know.
But they don't tell you all you need to know. According to your theory Aleix Espargaro who finished 7th in the championship this year was riding a better bike than Smith, Bradl, Iannone, Bautista and Crutchlow. That's simply not true. I'm not implying that this poll does reveal that, but you get my point, a list of names with a random number of points beside them doesn't reveal much about the season at all.

@Guna4699 You make a very valid point about Rossi that I believe is often overlooked, his return to form. When you take in to account the length of his career, his current age, the evolution of his riding style across 4 generations of 500cc/MotoGP machinery, his competition and the evolution of that competition there is no doubting he is the most achieved rider on the grid. I often think people forget the history of Rossi and his increible list of achievements because something new and amazing is happening right in front of us in the form of M.Marquez.

Gary Rowan: If Rossi wins this poll, it will be a complete joke!
Why? This poll is about evaluating a riders performance given the machinery they were on. It's common knowledge Yamaha were playing catch up for the majority of the season, yet Yamaha whilst not winning a race until round 13 they kept Marquez honest on numerous occasions during the early to mid stages of the season.

MotoGP » ‘Healthy’ MotoGP facing ‘optimistic future’

ProfessorX: no, because MM wasn't injured. And I didn't benefit by watching the show in anyway, in reality I lost precious time gratifying my ego. Bad habits die hard.
Ahh ok. So it's perfectly acceptable to be against the organiser posting videos of crashes in their series, but ok for you to search for their footage of a rider crashing...as long as they doesn't get hurt. Gotcha. Not contradictive at all. Thanks for clearing that up.

biaggi: As for Miller, Jack would wipe the floor with the likes of Morbidelli Pasini and Lowes every day of the week
Time and time again you spurt these remarks without any evidence of any form to back it up. Miller has never ridden aginst any of these riders, he's never ridden a Moto2 bike or any 600 for that matter and none of the three riders mentioned have ever ridden Moto3. How can you expect any one to take your comments seriously?

I know I'm going to get a load of dislikes for this because there's a lot of Dovi fans about, but P.Espagaro deserves to be higher than Dovi. Of the 13 races completed where both riders finished Espargaro beat Dovi 7 times to Dovi's 6. Of these 13 races Espargaro only scored 5 points less than Dovi, which is seriously impressive for a class rookie. Obviously Dovi got the Ducati on the podium twice (with the misfortune of others playing a part in that) but you have to be in it to win it so I'm not taking anything away from him. But head to head Espargaro should've been at least level with Doivzioso in this poll.
