MotoGP » MotoGP Star of the Year vote: 5th

MotoGPpower:...despite VR cutting the corner at Assen and the frustrated Ross deliberately taking him out in Valencia. With the machine he had this year and his performance, I think he should be much has higher than 5th
If you remove your Marquz blinkers for just a second, the reason Rossi cut the GT chicane at Assen was because he was punted out of the way by an out of control Marquez. As for being rated higher than 5th, "the MotoGP Star of the Year poll expects viewers to take into account factors such as [...] progress and personality just as much as race results." And that's where Marquez loses out big time.

Matt2: I have same HJC RPHA-10+ same as he, and I have NEVER had any problems like he had. Its not manufacturers fault you or your team cant assemble the helmet. The front part of helmet does not come loose on its own. It was bad assemble on Lorenzos crews part. As was foggy screen. Not manufacturers.
I can't remember who wrote it on Twitter (either Julian Ryder or David Emmett of Motomatters) but they stated that at Silverstone it was Lorenzo's decision not to run a fog insert on his visor despite advice to the contrary.

WSBK » BBC SPOTY: Ratings vs records

I know he's not from the 2 wheeled world, but Nick Tandy deserved at least a mention, his 2015 season has been quite simply verging on the stuff of legend. Not only for his Le Mans 24 Hours win, but the sensational drive at the Petit Le Mans where he won the race outright in a Porsche 911 beating full on prototye machines.

Gecko: Crash : It is obvious that your poll is not about the rider who rode the best or gave it his most but purely on fan base
It says on the lower section of the article that "Rather than repeat the Riders' World Championship standings, the MotoGP Star of the Year poll expects viewers to take into account factors such as machinery, performance relative to a team-mate, riding style, experience, injuries, progress and personality just as much as race results." So because Lorenzo won the title doesn't mean he has to finish top of this poll.

ducfer:Nothing new,so were Rossi's intentions at Suzuka 2010.He was prepared to do almost anything to get the much needed Lorenzo DNF for Pedrosa...
Hardly a valid to comapre 2010 to this past season. Yes, Rossi battled a bit too hard with Lorenzo in Japan 2010, but Pedrosa had broken his collarbone in practice. Lorenzo went into Motegi with a 58 point gap on Pedrosa. Lorenzo knew that Pedrosa would miss the triple header of Motegi, Sepang and Australia due to the injury, essentially guaranteeing Lorenzo the crown.

MotoGP » Why Lorenzo goes ‘too far’ during practice starts

Codger: I feel the same about Lozzer's first lap skills, reminds me of Casey when he was at his peak. The other thing is Jorge's ability to put in metronomic laps once he is at the front. These traits are why he is Champion....Rossi has neither of these skills.
I point you in the direction of the MotoGP website and to look at the analysis page of GP's that Rossi has won. You'll see he is metronomic in his race lap times. I think what you mean to say is that Lorenzo, when in that mode, is simply faster than anyone. Misano 2014, a race where he lead from lap 4 onwards, the race duration was 28 laps, 26 laps were within 0.737 of each other.

ZeFrenchAngle: :-) And Assen this year ! There is a high speed flip flop at Assen which is unreal - TV never does it justice, you have to see it in real life. You would have thought both Lorenzo and Marquez would have been faster in that section than a 36 year old TALL rider - Well, that is where Rossi was making all the time !
I raced it this year when I was out there with BSB :) it's quite an awesome section!
