MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

"Audi is a public German company. When they do their due diligence they are going to see clearly that Ducati wasted a ton of cash and resources and tarnished their racing heritage" @billace Sadly, I agree about the racing being in jeapordy with Audi. Audi or anyone else will definitely no go for bleeding money. If Ducati wants to continue in MotoGP they better be hiding all that spent cash in R&D accounts or keeping those Phillip Morris checks off the books and using that money for racing. And the thing about their racing heritage is that it was mainly built in WSBK as of late. Ducati has a single GP title and that was with Casey. I wouldn't be surprised if the new owners took them out of GPs and return to WSBK with a full factory effort. You can't argue that it is more bang for the buck for Ducati.

"99.9% of Ducati riders would be more likely to know Rossi if he was an olympic figure skater" @billace lololol Seriously, do people actually think most Ferrari drivers know who Alonso or Massa are? Or do they think BMW sales dropped when they pulled out of F1? Or that Mercedez sales are taking a hit because Schumacher isn't winning races?? C'mon people, take you head out of the MotoGP bubble - we are a niche fan base of niche market of motorcycling (at least in Europe and North America). We're a small percent of an already small percent.

Sales will not drop because of Rossi. Sales did not increase because of Rossi. Ducati sales have been going up long before Rossi even got there. Ducati attributes their increase in sales to their increas in product offering such as the Multistrada, Supermotard (?), Daivel ,etc etc. If Rossi was so good at selling bikes than Yamaha won't have had the biggest decrease in bikes sales among the Japs in 2009-2010. Racing has very little to do with bike sales. I would say the bike magazines with their "Wow! "X" is the greastest sportbike every made and the bike you bought last year is a piece of junk" hyerbole review articles sales more bikes. Just ask BMW - they are selling bikes by the truck load and have won F'k all in WSBK

@jj lol So Liam ask for evidence, I give it to him and you critisize me for it? um, I've been paying attention to MotoGP for a while - I already know what I post. I google articles so people like you and Liam who haven't and question what I say can reference so you can see I don't make up stuff and repeat what other posters say because it sounds good. Oh I forgot this is Crash - people don't like when you can back up what you say......

"where you there at the time to give me hard factual proof he got Ezpelaeta to get the change for him?" @Liam48 Google is your friend - use it! A copy of a Dennis Noyes article titled - Dorna Pressures Bridgestone to Supply Rossi, or Else! www.labusas.org/forum/showthread.php?t=91098 Here is an article on MCN that says: "Brivio shrugged off the suggestions that it had been embarrassing for Yamaha that they had needed to rely on Dorna boss Carmelo Ezpeleta leaning on Bridgestone to secure a deal." www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sportresults/mcn/2007/november/nov5-11/nov0507yamahaadmitbridgestonetyreswapisrisky--/

"I asked you why you call him unsportsman, arrogant etc... you didn't answer it because you couldn't back up your point" @Liam Really?? Did you not read the post?? Would a good sportsman handicap his teammate with lesser kit and when that teammate gets equal kit want him fired?? Would a good sportsman wish bad luck on a competitior because he feel that person turns him in for CHEATING which he did? Do you want to hear how he unfriended Sete because he started to beat him? Or how he disrespected competitors and mocked them? Or how he got Uncle Carmelo to threaten Bridgestone? Do you want more examples? And anyone who says "him or me" to try to get a teammate fired is arrogent. Anyone who wants all the credit for a title and leaves a manufacture when they gave him best bike by miles is arrogent. I can give more examples of his arrogence if you like as well.

"Stoner and Pedrosa tested around 40 last season" @Realist Rubbish Honda may have went through 40 frames during the entire 800cc era but not in 1 year. They don't even test enough to evaluate 40 frames. Hell Stoner probably didn't even do 40 test laps last year let alone test more than a couple of chassis. Last year at Valencia or Sepang 1, Honda brought 3 chassis - the old one, a new stiff one, and a softer new one. Casey choose the new stiff one, Dani thought about using the old one but ended up on a new one, and I forgot which one Dovi chose. But no way in hell they went through 40 different chassis types in a year. That's not even possible with the lack of testing AND building a 1000cc bike. Maybe they went through 40 of the same chassis over the season between Repsol, Gresini, and LCR replacing crashed bikes and the like but no way they built and evaluated 40 different types of chassis.
