plan4 I don't think there is an argument that the top 4 won't be the top 4. And 500cc racing in the Doohan era was extremely boring. But we got to see the riders slide the bike and really fight with them which more exciting than seeing them all neat and tidy like now. Not saying that riding a GP bike now is easy but it just doesn't create the spectacle that the 500's or 990's created.

Moving back to the 990's or increasing capacity to 1000 will make horsepower cheaper without a doubt. So grid size may increase. But the electronic aids will still be there and being that they have moved on since 2006 the show really won't be that much better than what we have now. The 800's are more powerful than the 500cc 2-strokes ever where but it's the electronics that are killing the show - not capacity or horsepower. I'll like to see a better show of rider skill AND a decrease in cost and increase in grid size. Unless they curve down the electronics I don't think the actual show will improve.

Seriously, what's he going to say? He isn't going to pull a Colin Edwards and say he wants to kick his teammates ass! But yes, it's a nice and rosey press release but I think he's laughing his ass off behind closed doors.

I can't wait for Lewis to outclass JB. If Alonso couldn't shade Lewis in his rookie year than how can Jenson do it now? I can already hear the JB fans excuses "Jenson's not getting a fair shake" and "He's not getting equal equipment" blah, blah, blah. Well JB will be in a British team with another British driver so at least we don't have to hear an excuse about nationality. If I'm wrong than I'll say I'm wrong but I bet I won't have to........

Leon did a good job but you have to wonder what is taking so long. My bet is that they are giving De Angelis a hard look. I think it'll be hard for an Italian manufacture to pass on De Angelis who did pretty good the 2nd half of the year in MotoGP once he received the updates to his bike. Plus he comes from 250s and has a style that is probably closer to Max's. Surely who ever misses out on the factory seat will be offered the satellite ride.

If the weight difference is what you say it is and Pedrosa is 40 plus pounds heavier than Hayden I'll know how it will go. If Pedrosa has to add 40 plus pounds to his bike it would probably handle like a shopping cart. It would turn into a complete pig compared to what he's used to having. And you think he's complaining about the bike now!

I figured Dovi to place 5th last year behind the top 4 but Edwards had other plans. Next year I still don't see him breaking into the top 4. His problem is that Edwards didn't retire this year and Spies has already shown that he can beat him and will also be in the mix for "best of the rest". Looking at the results of the last race and test, I wouldn't be surprised if Kallio or Nicky found their way in a fight with Dovi.

I thought Superbike rider where no good in GPs and that all 250 riders are successful in MotoGP on 800s, right?
