BSB » What's the Story? Time to back the Brits

Cry me a river. It's been like this since the beginning of time. Companies don't sponsor riders through the ranks because they like them and want to support them. They do it because either the guy writing the checks into bike racing and/or it makes good business sense. Bike racing is bigger in Spain and Italy than say England and the US. It's good a good marking opportunity for companies in Spain and Italy to sponsor riders in their championship. Does it make good business sense for a British company to sponsor a kid in Spanish 125cc it they are not in that market selling products? Probably not. So why would they do it? Repsol isn't paying the bill for Marquez just because he is an outstanding talent. He's attracting eye balls on Spanish TV and it's a good return on advertisement dollars invested.

MotoGP » McWilliams: MotoGP can make or break you

Why is everyone tripping over themselves praising Laverty like he's the 2nd coming of the 2 wheeled Messiah? What has he done? He has all of 2 WSBK victories and sits down in the standing right now. Freaking Lanzi and Fabrizio both has just as many if not more wins than that. lol. Laverty doesn't even have any poles. The one thing that Cal did do was bag pole after pole and showed his speed. Out of Haslam, Laverty, and Rea I only rate Rea of having success in GPs at the moment. Combine they only have 14 WSBK wins - Spies did that in 1 year. lol. They are good superbikes riders but not great. Hell, I'm welling to bet Sykes out classes them all this year in WSBK and may end up being the best of the group. I think Rea needs to move on next year to GPs even if it's a CRT ride. I was really high on Rea and every time I lose faith he puts in a blinder.

MotoGP » McWilliams: MotoGP can make or break you

"I'm sorry, but most of the British riders are like the American riders...overrated. Cal is really the exception and I am glad he is proving me wrong" Really? And what has Cal done to prove that he is the excetion to "overrated" Americans? Does he have the wins, poles, MotoGP titles, and podiums of Nicky? Or the podiums or poles of Colin? Or the win, podiums, or pole or Spies? So Cal gets 2 4ths and already he's the exception to the "overrated" Americans and Brits?? er, shooting your load and wetting your pants a wee pit too soon are you? I'm not knocking Cal because it's good to see him doing good (and getting me points in my fantasy road racing team) but shouldn't he have done a littl more to annointed the "exception"?

MotoGP » Hayden: It was fun for a couple of laps

@Antagonist Nicky has only said the the bike has potential and it is one of the better bikes he has had from Ducati. Don't twist the words around to fit your agenda. Even in this article he says "Eighth place is certainly not what our goal is. The bike's got a lot of potential, but at the moment, the gap to the rest is still too far".
