WSBK » 'Privateer' Rea riding on the edge

Hindsight is 20/20 but staying with Ten Kate was a bad move. I said from the off that I doubt Honda would take him to MotoGP. Honda didn't take Colin who won 2 WSBK titles for them or JT who was far more popular and won a title for them. The only superbike riders that I can think of that Honda has taken to MotoGP in the last decade or so were Nicky who was forced upon them from US Honda and Tamada who was the All Japan champ and Honda factory rider. With Bradl showing promise and Marquez in the wings, sadly I don't see a place for Rea within Honda MotoGP. The Ten Kate model might have worked in years past but it is now dated. The only way that Ten Kate will be fighting for WSBK titles is from massive help from Honda. Honda has been not been interesed in WSBK for years. With them winning MotoGP last year and Yamaha pulling out of WSBK I don't see this changing.

MotoGP » Nicky Hayden gets MotoGP test time at Mugello

"Oh my! So 'Realist', how would you describe 2011 if you think that 08 09 10 were a 'failure' for Ducati/Stoner." @Hemmy You're in my head and took the words straight out of my mouth. It's hilarious to me that now the Stoner knockers/Rossi apologist are twisted in a knot. If they bad mouth what Stoner did at Ducati (which he of course won more races than Val) shouldn't they be talking down on their hero whose accomplishments on the Ducati isn't even in the same universe as what Stoner did?? Seriously, we are talking multiple pole and race winning seasons to what? A single podium? The hypocrisy is amazing isn't it? But of course we are talking about Realist here who in one breath said he "give little credibility to what a journalist says" (even though he doesn't work int he paddock and has to rely on them for whatever he knows) yet goes on to repeat a forum poster saying Stoner and Dani tested 40 chassis last year. lol. Yeah, hypocrite personified.

MotoGP » Nicky Hayden gets MotoGP test time at Mugello

And that's coming from a huge Hayden fan who has watched him since he was a teenager. Do you think when Ducati sign Val to a gazillion dollars they didn't expect him to beat Nicky? Who in their right minds EXPECTED Nicky to beat Rossi last year? To say Nicky should have beat Rossi because he was there longer is crap and you know it. Don't use that as an excuse as to why Val only beat him by 7 or so points.

MotoGP » Nicky Hayden gets MotoGP test time at Mugello

@DB8 lol I wasn't going to comment on this thread but the utter ridiculousness of one of your post can't be ignored. You act like Rossi being on better kit than Hayden last year is a surprise. It's commonly known that Rossi started last year on the standard GP11 when Hayden was saddled with the "soft kit" that Rossi didn't even race and the team dismissed to Hayden. And when Rossi went to the GP11.1 (in Assen?) Nicky was left with the stillborn developed older chassis until Laguna I believe. Now part of the reason was because of Hayden's engine supply numbers but Rossi had what was still believe to be the better kit much earlier. It definitely was the kit that was being developed. And you say just because Hayden had been at Ducati longer that he should have beat Val? That's preposterous. That's like saying Dovi should have beat Stoner because he was with Honda longer. Just like Dovi compared to Stoner, Nicky isn't in the same talent wise as Val. And that's coming from a huge Hayden

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi 'suffering' but won’t leave Ducati

"You can't be the team leader and highest paid rider in the sport and give a half ass effort and turn around and then complain. " Yes you can if it's your life on the line. So easy for you the professional armchair critic. @dacron Any expert or "professional armchair critic" doesn't call the team leader who get's his ass handed to him by his teammate and a bunch a satellite riders team leader for long - he'll be referred to as the #2. So no, he can't be the team leader and give a half ass effort if he wants to continue to be the team leader. Any thing else you want to take out of context so I can straighen you out some more?

I read the Kenny Roberts Jr article. And Kenny was infamous for publicly saying that he wouldn't over ride a crap heap. He once said something similar to if he has a 10th place bike he is gonna finish 10th. But anyway, I don't think people expect Val to override the bike. Ok, Stoner did it and it was brilliant but that was Stoner. But what people do expect is for him to be beating Hayden and Barbera. He was slower than Hayden and Barbera in EVERY session in Qatar - FP1, FP2, FP3, and QP, he was the last place prototype in QP, and I think he set the slowest fastest lap in the race of a prototype. That's unacceptable and gives the impression that he isn't trying. You can't be the team leader and highest paid rider in the sport and give a half ass effort and turn around and then complain.

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi lashes out after Qatar nightmare

"He's not going to necessarily jump on a Tech 3 Yamaha, for example, and out pace the Honda's. It will put him in contention for podiums and possible wins though" @Realist Wait, wait, what?! I asked this question early today - what do you guys expect Rossi to do on a satellite Yamaha or Honda if by an act of God they actually let him get one of those satellite bikes? And you expect him to be possibily in contention to win races? Really? First off, do you think they will give him anything close to a factory bike to even remotely have the chance to cherry pick wins off the factory teams? And exactly why would Yamaha or Honda do that? If he gets one of those satellite bikes they will be as stock as a Blade or an R1. Those satellite bikes are as close to a factory bike this year as they ever will be - they won't be close next year. He will still be fighting for no better than 5th or 6th on a satellite bike and that's if whoever is on the Ducati factory bikes aren't in contention. As I
