Amazing that people blaming Colin for this. How do you all know that Toseland is pushing because of CE, where is your proof?

2 off's in testing and a poor season last year, maybe Toseland is pushing himself to try and keep up with the best riders in the world. Really with the Yamaha being the best bike in the field, and the other riders performing much better. Maybe Toseland is out of his league and this is why he is pushing himself, beyond his limits.

Many of the fans on here took joy in calling a certain rider "crasher" Maybe the mantle has been taken by Toseland.

Garry Coates has produced the post of the year. Sport on Garry sensors could be removed to rid a bike a traction control but with modern electronics, a different type of traction control could be used via engine management. What do DORNA produce then a control ECU? Who would control the ECU and what programing could be done by a team. This gets away from the whole prototype series. People jumped up and down when Bridgestone produced a far superior tire and we saw the rules changed. This was after how many years of Michelin domination? People want a prototype series, then they want certain things banned. Make up your mind folks, go and follow the R6 cup.

Of course it did not work out. It was one of those things that happen. IMO things fell into place for Melandri. I felt at the time that Lorenzo had left his change to dry tires a little late. Watching the race I felt when Rossi went in was the perfect time as you could really see the dry line forming around the circuit. I dont think anyway has handed the championship to Lorenzo either. I am going to go out on a limb now and predict the championship will between Rossi and Lorenzo. 1. The Yamaha is the best machine by far. 2. Stoner has not got it this year. So far he seems to be gathering points unlike last 2 years. 3. Pedrosa lacks the killer instinct that Rossi and Lorenzo have.

Just to add. In 07 Rossi had to ride at 110% to keep up with the Ducati/Stoner package. When a rider and I dont care who it is, has to ride at 110% then mistakes are going to happen. I dont believe at the rider can rider can constantly go at 110% for an entire race and not have incidents. Last year it was the same for Stoner, after Laguna Seca, he was forced to push himself, more than he was comfortable with and look at the results. 06, Rossi had issues, but it was more bike related that being pushed by another rider. This year you feel all riders are going to have to push. I think Lorenzo is very tough mentally and if push comes to shove, he may not fail like others.

Yes both years were hard but for very different reasons. You cant say that the Honda was the total package with Hayden in 06. Hayden win and good on him, was due to Rossi's misfortunes and not due to total package. Where Stoner/Ducati was the total package and dominated races. This year to me is different again. He will have 3 riders coming at him, one is his team mate, which will make it even harder. Who does the factory put the majority of it's support behind with 2 excellent riders in the hunt, plus the Ducati and Honda getting stronger. At least Ducati and Honda can put all it efforts towards a single rider to fight for the championship. Maybe this will be the best season yet?

Do you think 06 was hard because he had a few crashes, or due to the competition of other riders? I agree that 07 was hard due to the Ducati/Stoner package was pretty much unbeatable but this year he has challenges from not only another brand but also a team mate. Over the years, The reason for Rossi winning was because there was no one really in the same league, plus the fact he was the total package. 06 was bad luck, and 07 Stoner was the total package. 08 Stoner was unable to keep his form and his nerve was tested. 09 is a different kettle of fish, We have 4 riders who can and will win. OH what luck don't you want me to push? You prefer me to Rossi bash?

You have to feel this year will be the hardest yet for Rossi. His team mate is known for not making friends in the paddock and is ultra more agressive than Pedrosa and Stoner. Lorenzo would be less diplomatic than Stoner if another Larguna Seca was to occur. I would expect more fireworks than the 4th of July. I am still waiting for Stoner to step up to the mark, now is the perfect time with Lorenzo taking over the spot light. I hope this was a nice balanced post. Fanboi's start your anti stoner, Lorenzo rubbish & GOAT crap and the other XXCurveXX will return.

Brendan, what an amazing post well said. It was pure bad luck for Rossi and it just goes to show he is human like everyone else. Well done to Melandri and his 2nd place. Still Lorenzo and Edwards were the 2 best rides today. Another lap and I think Edwards would have passed CV. Stoner another ride which just picked up valuable points and keeps him in the hunt for the championship. Lets hope in the following rounds he can pick some points up and not become a Nicky Hayden and accumulate points with the odd win. You have to also think, this win for Jorge will really going to boast his confidence and really make it a 3 way battle with Rossi and Stoner, maybe throw in Pedrosa. to be cont

Come on guys, remember there is no "I" in team. Well not in the Honda, Ducati & Suzuki teams anyway. Seems to me Yamaha adhere to the Hayate method with the exception of each team having a test rider plus a pre-madonna. In the case of the Yamaha teams Lorenzo and Edwards are the test mules.

Another change of rules from DORNA for it's GOAT. VR is required to know what tires the other riders are using, if not he will do another WRC/F1 test. I suspect this has been going on for years. Even as far back as the over night specials flown in for the DORNA GOAT.
