WSS » Assen - Race results

Kenan Sofuoglu: “I think the championship will be a fight between the three riders we have seen on the podium here today. I had a hard fight right to the last lap and I expected to win it. Today Sam was better than me, and this I have to accept sometimes. Always I try to win but sometimes it is not possible. Also racing is about the package and I think we did not get the very best set-up possible on the bike because we lost one day to the rain on Friday. I have two podiums so far and equal third position so it is not so bad.”

WSS » Assen - Race results

Was a great race, I think Assen suited the R6 tad better than the ZX 6R. Not long enough straights to make use of the Ninja's better top end. Towards the end it looked like Kenan had chewed his rear tyre a bit too much, the bike was moving about in a lot of places. Coming into final corner Kenan wanted to cover the inside but I assume he moved back to the racing line too soon thinking Sam would dive round the outside. Congrats to Sam, will be a let off if the title doesn't go to the wire.

WSS » Phillip Island - Race results

That was a thorough demonstration as to why Kenan's a triple world champion. That said, i was expecting more from Sam towards the end. Good to see though that there's no bad blood between them despite the argy-bargy over the races - at least in front of the cameras. A word about vd Mark. When Kenan debuted with ten kate as a 21 y/o hotshot back in 2006, he finished 3rd behind Charpentier and Kurtain. Not exactly a bad omen for Vd Mark now is it :)
