WSBK » Double points, extra races for final rounds?

...for the record my previous post was very much sarcastic. That was a reference to the fans' reaction to double points in F1. But yeah, if they somehow make it more relevant by extending the race for example, then it may certainly be less of a horrible idea. But is that really an option? For starters, are there any practical problems with extending the races, fuel capacity, tyres, refuelling possibilities etc? I can see there might be some issues there in terms of personnel and equipment available to cope with it etc.

F1 » Lotterer confirmed at Caterham

Ummm what, selective memory much? Bianchi did a very late lunge, they touched and Kobayashi's car was damaged. Very unfortunate for Kobayashi, I think Bianchi deserved those points but if not for the damage it's highly likely that Kobayashi would have been able to get the last point for P10. As it were, instead Ericsson could hang on to P11 mostly due to others retiring, while Kobayashi limped home in P13. Don't know why people come dragging with this BS about him being useless because he's dead last in the standings, when they surely know the reason for this is that one race with tons of DNFs. No one could have missed the fact that he's been comfortably ahead of his team mate for the rest of the season, and usually ahead of Chilton too.

F1 » Lotterer set to replace Kobayashi at Caterham

He's also won a driver's championship (2 drivers per car) in SuperGT, and hes typically been the better of the pairing. Some of the European drivers in SuperGT are better (seemingly) than their Japanese counterparts in SuperGT (do they still call it that?), but the Japanese guys always get more of the TV camera. Lotterer is a class act, him, Duval and Treluyer along with Quintarelli have done pretty well in that series.
Sorry but one title in nine years of racing in a GT series that has nowhere near the quality of the top series in Europe is, again, good but not overwhelming. Sure the guys you mention are excellent race car drivers, particularly in GT and endurance racing, but that does not necessarily mean they are F1 quality.
