F1 » Mattiacci keen to lift F1 engine freeze

Yeah freezing the development of a virtually untested engine always did seem like a strange idea. I think at the very least they should have been given a LOT more time for testing in order for the instant freeze to make sense. Though as pointed out, I'm pretty sure Mercedes won't agree and will fight tooth and nail to keep the ban in place. And Mattiacci would do the exact same thing if Ferrari had the upper hand.

F1 » Kate Walker: Nico’s alleged thoughtcrime

Er what? Way to go off topic there. No you can't be punished for thoughts, but if you spread racist propaganda or propaganda about the holocaust not existing then that's an entirely different thing. Your own example, Emma West, was charged with racially aggravated public order offence. That's not a thought crime by any stretch. How would you even know what someone thinks if they don't express it in any way? West most certainly did. The point here is that all we have is telemetry and video, and if that does not prove on its own that Rosberg did anything deliberately wrong and he doesn't confess to doing so either, we can still never be sure he did or didn't because we can't read his mind. Heaven knows he's not the first one to do an ambitious overtaking attempt and stick his front wing where it doesn't belong, nor is he the last one.

F1 » Hamilton ‘will always put the team first’

And he's still talking about it like those points somehow belong to him. He will never get them back? No, you can't have them back because you never had them FFS! How many points does he have in his own tally? A wild guess would be that all of 300 points are really rightfully his and the only reason he doesn't have them all is that the team, the FIA, Rosberg and probably a few others I forget too are conspiring against him.

F1 » Rosberg disputes Hamilton claims

superdowg316: Oh god we have to deal with this he-said-but-he-said business for another week, don't we? Mercedes this week are having a PR disaster. Everyone's saying this and that and it's all contradicting one another. What they needed to do is shut everyone up until Monza and get on with it.
Well, you can try all you like but you don't really shut guys like Hamilton and Lauda up, do you? For me, the one who speaks the team's official statements and opinions will be Wolff, he's the team man and the more diplomatic character. Lauda and Hamilton will run their own versions regardless of what was the conlusion of the meeting, it's just the way they are for better or worse. But you're probably right that it feeds the press in a way the team doesn't really need in a situation like this.

F1 » Rosberg disputes Hamilton claims

It's called being professional and not a spoilt brat who forgets they are being paid millions as an employee of a multinational company. Nico is wise enough to know to keep certain things behind closed doors, all that needed to be discussed was discussed in that meeting, no point mouthing off to the media.
Well that's one big difference yeah. Rosberg understands that it can be taken away from him just like that if he doesn't play his part right, and I feel he's more humble about it. I think his sudden ruthlessness stems from that too - he knows he has a winning car now, but he won't have that forever.

F1 » Rosberg disputes Hamilton claims

Phranc: In the final analyses LH will destroy any team that is foolish enough to employ him. He would be better employed in the theatre as a Drama Queen He is enough to put anyone off the sport but it is not a sport to him it's just a cash cow invented by RD and McLaren. It would be nice if they tried to put that right and bring home one of their recent new boys like Jack Harvey he's a thoroughly nice bloke and a fantastic competitor Just read Indy blogs ro see his reactions to situations he has found himself in this year. If we are not lucky enough to see him in F1 he will soon be a great Indy champion and that will be a great loss to GB.
He did have a very promising theatre debut in Turkey a few years ago, you should look that up...
