Usually Bernie that plays brinksmanship, quite funny to see an F1 supplier doing it. Rubber just masks the issue that these cars have to much downforce and without the cheese tyres and Kers/DRS it's pretty much impossible to pass.

After 5 laps of having it's tyres chewed I suspect an actual train would go round the circuit quicker than the merc. The Senna Mansell battle (93?) still gives me goosebumps when I watch it, best display of defensive driving I've ever seen, if he can do that I'll be impressed but he'll just be jumped in the pit stops. Alonso is a pretty good bet if he has a decent qualifying.

They can't afford the best people anymore and any good people they develop get nicked by other teams. It pained me to come to the conclusion that if it wasn't for the 'B' teams in Spain they were the slowest team on the grid, the Minardi's. They need strong leadership and a proven no1 driver, they have a completely untested team principle, a fast but inconsistent no1 driver and a rookie who is an unknown quantity in F1 (might be good). Can hardly believe that's Williams I'm describing that I grew up watching :S

At least Honda left what became Brawn in much better shape when they pulled out of the sport, BMW have form of doing the opposite.

Who's he kidding. BMW have a long and rich history of just leaving motorsport formulas and just using motorsport discipline as a marketing toy. No loss not having them in F1. The WRC Mini program is a good example of this, also if Peter Sauber hadn't stepped back in the team would have disappeared.

He's so thin he'll slip through the bars, they'd need to install some chicken wire. Bernie is minted and money can get you off with pretty much anything......in some cases.
