F1 » Bottas sees potential FRIC advantage

107SS2009: Both Marusa and Williams ran their cars without FRIC at Silverstone (very opportune testing that!), mclaren I am not sure, but they seems happy at not being effected if FRIC have to go, Catahram does not use FRIC so that leaves only 6 teams who’s position is not known.
I doubt then all teams will agree to keep it as it is not in Williams interest.

F1 » McLaren surprised by FRIC ban

richard: rob. the lotus system was not interconnection. it was based on braking causing the nose to rise, so as to maintain the stance on the track. operation was via the floating brake calipers, hence the comments that it was a "movable aero device). it was banned before it debuted. and rightly so. it had an effect on aero. i was surprised when merc introduced it as i considered that it too affected aero, and we discussed that at the time. but is peculiar that it has taken fia so long to realise that it indeed does affect aero. good to know that they listen to me! :) forgot to add....i just cannot understand why they have suddenly decided , mid season, that it is illegal.
Is is the same Merc team that got of virtually unpunished after an illegal tyre test?
