F1 » Vettel praises ‘phenomenal results’

Sounds a much happier ship than previous years, wonder how much of a factor is Alonso's departure? We had a good team where I work, an utterly useless project manager (aren't they all :)) was appointed and the whole atmosphere has disappeared and it's all bit*hing now. Good management promoting a good atmosphere makes all the difference.

WRC » Meeke: This victory is for Colin

Show's great strength of character too bounce back in such a fashion after such a tough start to the season. When I saw he won I knew he'd dedicate it to Colin, he used to stay at Colin's place when he was helping him pushing his career on. Really glad he got his 1st victory and hopefully it gives him the confidence to get some more wins this year, never doubted his ability or speed. Great third place for Evans too.

F1 » ‘No plans’ for Audi-VW to enter F1

Blow 300-400 million to be possibly humiliated as a new entrant as Honda have been to date, hopefully Honda will prove their doubters wrong but the R&D and investment required is nose bleed inducing. With WEC, Rallying, RX etc they get good brand exposure already. ps I think Honda will overtake Renault soon making Renault's humiliation much greater.

F1 » Silverstone boss: F1 not as exciting as it should be

Taz: @Wiseguy Despite the id name were isn't a lot of wisdom in that statement.
Hi Taz. Would there be so much wingeing if the FIA president was British and the dominant team was McLaren or Williams? F1 is meant to be the pinnacle of motor sport technology and this is exactly what we have right now. Check the James Allen web site for a fascinating insight on current F1 technology and race strategies. It will help you understand that there is more to F1 racing than just " voom voom".
lol James Allens blog, now I know your having a laugh :) my poor sides

F1 » Silverstone boss: F1 not as exciting as it should be

@Tesla I was watching WRC highlights last night (mostly because Kris Meeke won). The cars are utterly boring, 1.6 Turbo's....wooo. I know that ties into what manufacturers are trying to punt but it's boring and eco boost engines are not efficient once you begin to boot it to get anywhere in the road cars I've driven. F1 is been royally ruined by F1 manufacturers having to much influence over the rules....and Bernie's 5 way agreement which is killing the smaller teams.

F1 » Silverstone boss: F1 not as exciting as it should be

Madmitch51: Agree with you and @Matt2, but the engine and gearbox rules do mean we get to see a lot more cars racing, than 10/15 years ago, when so many broke down, they were made for one race, ie on the edge of reliability, it did ruin a lot of GP, and it does save money, helpful for new teams coming in.
Fair points, the problem is they don't race much. The 1st few laps and the last few laps can be exciting but the rest is tyre & fuel management. The aero package this year has taken us back to the bad old days before DRS had to be introduced, unless you have a big overspeed it's hard to overtake and running in dirty air kills the tyres.
