MotoGP » Ezpeleta: 15 million euros for a MotoGP team

Maybe if the rules were not so restrictive on the type of machine and instead were simplified to something along the lines of max 4 cylinders & 1000cc, no more than x litres of fuel & a budget cap of X more teams would consider getting involved but at the moment its deteriorated into little more than a p***ing contest to see who can spend enough to get the best out of a machine that the rules make almost identical in the engine department. Bear in mind that Norton submitted a request to use a CRT spec version of their NRV588 bike but had it refused on the ground it was not an inline 4 cylinder machine.

F1 » Ecstatic Sauber dismisses 'conspiracy' talk

Why were Sauber so intent that Perez should be careful & not lose the place? Despite what fools and conspiracy theorists would like us all to believe its a fairly simple reason. A podium position guarantees the teams transport fees & costs for next season are paid for by F1 and not out of Sauber's budget. Championship points mean that a percentage of transport costs are paid by F1 on a sliding scale based on how many points but a podium guarantees 100% of the costs are paid. For a small underfunded team like Sauber that makes a massive difference.

F1 » Italians call for Massa's head

Many Italian media & fan outlets were calling for the heads of Domenicali and both drivers even before the end of qualifying when neither driver made Q3. I read one page translated via babelfish as saying that Domenicali was responsible for a team that had put a car on track that was so poor it did not deserve to be painted red or called a Ferrari.

F1 » Protest looming 'down under'?

If the way Sky presenters explained the rules is correct its not legal. Rules state no aerodynamic device that is driver operated or initiated by the driver with the exception of DRS. OK Merc are being very clever in making it that this device is operated when the DRS is active but as they said on Sky its activated when the driver operates DRS and it is not DRS so if you go by the wording of the rules its illegal. I think Jackie Stewart summed it all up properly though. If someone does lodge a formal complaint & its illegal it will screw up Merc's aerodynamic package that is all designed to work with it. However if it is found to be legal as part of the judgement the way it works complete with schematic drawings will be published as part of the judgement, This makes it easy for other teams to copy it in the same way they did with McLaren's F duct.

WSBK » Althea boss concerned by Biaggi fight back

Run bigger engines have a weight penalty its not a hard premise to work out is it? Would Bevilacqua still be whining like a baby ( AGAIN ) if the WSBK season started 3 weeks later? That way the FIA homologation of the Panigale would have gone through in time to get the bikes race prepped in time to ship out to PI. First reports coming out of the BSB paddock who's season is starting later so allowing Panigales is that the bike is easier to ride and shrugs off the weight penalty with ease.

WSBK » Haslam bravery rewarded with top five finish

Many underestimate Leon but his record on underfunded bikes for both Stiggy Honda & Alstare Suzuki speaks for its self. I feel confident that if the BMW turns out to be more rideable than last year we will see Leon show his true colours. If however the BMW still struggles I hope that Leon puts his career ahead of loyalty and seeks a ride on a more competative machine. Anyone who has seen his rides in BSB will know what he can do. Dont forget that as a raw 18yo Leon was also in 500cc GP racing on a bike that most considered so poor it was lucky not to break down before the green flag. While results were sp**** he impressed many with his attitude & racecraft.
