BSB » Emotional Hopkins congratulates Hill, thanks team

The only true loser in what has been an excellent race season for BSB is MotoGP for turning their backs & shunning Hopper when he was in a dark place with his troubles. Massive credit needs to be given to Jack Valentine & Crescent racing for sticking with Hopper & giving him the chance to race when the time was right. I am torn now what I want, on one hand I really want to see more of the same from John in more BSB but on the other hand I want to see him get the recognition & return to the world stage.

MotoGP » Dovizioso officially confirmed at Tech 3 Yamaha

@ Don-R Honda not putting up a fight & releasing him early to test?? Do you not remember that Honda terminated Dovi's contract with Repsol when they signed Stoner & the only reason Dovi is racing under Repsol colours this season is he took legal action against them to make them honour the contract they both had for this year? Maybe this will be a good thing for Dovi we all know he is a talented rider but that has not been seen too often on the Honda so maybe a switch to a different manufacturer will be good for him, Either that or we wont see it on the Yam and he will be out of MGP after next season

BSB » John Hopkins hails ‘make-or-break’ season

The way that John has overcome his personal demons that almost wrecked his whole life nevermind his career and then returned to racing showing us just hoe good he was and now is again is commendable. I am genuinely torn this weekend I really want to see Tommy Hill win the BSB title but also want to see Hopper win it as well, infact most of the riders on the grid deserve to win the title, except IMHO Kiyo who has been a shadow of the rider we have come to expect, Because this year has been full of such good racing

MotoGP » Marco Simoncelli makes 1000cc MotoGP debut

@ Nick636 The rookie rule only prevents a rookie for riding for a direct factory team it does not prevent a rookie being given factory equipment in a satellite team. Simoncelli for example has had full factory equipment from the day he progressed to the MotoGP class. One point to remember This year Pedrosa & Dovi are contracted to Repsol Honda. Stoner & Somoncelli are contracted directly to Honda. Next Year Pedrosa & Stoner are contracted to Repsol Simoncelli is still directly employed by Honda. Truth is Gresini as a team only have funds to run 1 bike the same as LCR Simoncelli's side of the garage is 100% HRC they just wear Gresini colours. Honda have offered LCR a subsidised "near" factory spec bike and a second grid slot if they sign Dovi whos options are running out fast. Bear in mind however that Repsol Honda sacked Dovizioso at the end of last season with the offer of a financial settlement and it was only through legal action that he rides under Repsol colours this year &

WSBK » Toni Elias to WSBK on a Ducati?

We know Toni has talent.. On the right bike just look at how dominent he was in Moto2. However his performance this season being considered Toni would be lucky to be offered a contract delivering for Dominoes pizza or riding a pogo stick. As someone else suggested Toni would be better advised to consider stepping back and rebuilding his career than risking staying in MotoGP or WSBK on what will inevitably be a less competative machine

WSBK » Yamaha hinting at its ‘future’?

There was a very interesting interview with Carlo Pernat on GP1 . com recently. He said that most of the paddock now expects that with WSBK & MotoGP now being under the same ownership we can expect to see a joint calendar at some point in the not too distant future. May sound alarmist but both MotoGP & WSBK have suffered because of lack of funds and a combined schedule would drastically reduce costs. He also said he expects WSBK to follow BSB in reducing costs by returning the bikes to adapted production machines instead of ( and lets be honest here ) Something where almost nothing remains of a production bike. BSB has gone that step further for 2012 in makiong the whole field "evo" with standard electronics, no launch control, traction control etc. Lets hope very soon WSBK returns to being production racing & MGP purely prototypes and that way we can go back to technology from MGP feeding back to production
