MotoGP » Jerez Moto3 test times - Friday

Great stuff Danny Its a bit odd that less than half the bikes present are submitting times ?? What i understand is there is a bit of 'creative accounting' going on and some are deciding not to play the games. I am the manager of two of the riders not submitting times, their teams are focusing on race pace and running 'medium' tyres all day. 'Others' are fitting 'softs' to set a time !!! Truth is no one will really know until Qatar, some are using the official Moto3 ECU, others are not. Some are using soft tyres, some are not. And nobody is carrying any weight, most are under the minimum weight (148 Kg). When the flag drops, the Bulls**t will stop, and not before !!

MotoGP » 125: Mahindra proud to make history for India

OK, Update 2 No its not the Loncin/Lambretta engine, The Loncin engine was replaced mid season last year with new in-house crank cases/crank etc. The Lambretta name was just a branding excersise, they paid Engines Engineering to just call it a Lambretta. This years engine is a further revised bottom end, new in-house cylinder, new ignition system. At the end of last year it was quick on top end but lacked bottom end torque (getting out the corners/acceleration) and was unreliable due to a poor ignition system. Not engine failures. Sfbrain

MotoGP » 125: Mahindra proud to make history for India

OK, here is a 'Factual' info update. Believe it or not, i am connected to this project No the race bike will not have the trelis frame, the trelis framed bike was a 'Mock up' show bike for an internal presentation to Mahindra Management. No, the engine is not a Honda, in fact it is an in house designed engine. Current dyno tests of the engine show it will surprise some established teams. Yes, Mahindra Racing will be in moto3, this is the first year of a (currently) 3 year programme. The 125 project is the basis and establishment of the Moto3 team. The Moto3 bike is scheduled to start track testing in September. Mahindra management are 100% behind the sucess of this project

MotoGP » 125: New Indian entry secures Webb, Schrotter

I think you will find Dorna 'Jumped the Gun' with the announcement about Danny and Schrotter joining the team. It wasnt supposed to be announced until mid Jan, but to clear up a few points :- Mahindra will not just be another sponsor of the old Loncin/Lambretta project, Mahindra have bought Engines Engineering completly, they are now part of the Mahindra group. The 2011 project is a completly new project so dont expect to see a rebadged Lambretta. As pointed out earlier, they had nothing to do with the Maxtra/Haojue project. I have it on good authority, although unreliable the 2010 engine was quick and was regularly in the top 3 bikes through the speed traps, unfortunalty its low down grunt was missing and was slow out of the corners. 2011 is a transition year before we get Moto3, which surely is the goal for this project, Mahindra sold nearly 16,000 scooters in India, in November !! Nothing on Dannys website about the project either, lets wait for the launch
