F1 » Rosberg wants 'F1 constructors’ title out of the way’

richard:
Salan:
tommytrojan1: No offence, Taz - just don't see the need - even if in jest - to stir up negative feelings when there aren't any among any of the Crash community! :-)
If I may touch on your comment by adding my own observation. The tone amongst the posters here has definitely changed. Once upon a time, there use to be an atmosphere of friendly banter between apposing posters here, regrettably the comments nowadays have (for want of a better word) become bad-natured and petty. Entrenchment has become the norm and it's vastly becoming trolls-R-us on here now.
quite right salan. there was a time when a few of us were able to discuss f1 in a knowledgable and light mannered way, and then the site became affected by the trolls, especially one multi-name poster, who sadly still infects the site.
I do miss those days.

F1 » Rosberg wants 'F1 constructors’ title out of the way’

107SS2009: "That doesn't sound like a broken wire. Is a steering wheel wiring loom a component or another name for a wiring bundle. If the latter, the explanation didn't seem to line up. Sounds like others have different opinions as well". A cable loom is a wiring harness/wiring bundle. A F1 steering wheel is a computer in its own right. The Omnicorse quoted (FI employed) electronics technician said that that problem "Was down to engine mapping which if incorrectly run would have sent conflicting information to the steering wheel and so preventing it's correct operation". There were also many cartoons about the subject, the best one of which had a picture of a F1 steering wheel with a figure of NR on top telling Lulu “OK LULU!...ORA PERO SIAMO PARI!...
MI dispiace per voi distruggendo in precedenza

F1 » Horner happy to be closer to Mercedes

richard:
cleon: Yeah great drive by Lewis according to Wolf and Lauda. I have to agree with them the charge on the super-softs was just out of this world.
are you not following either? it wasnt a schumi type performance! schumi could do it whlst on the same tyres as others and in an equal car. lulu did it on tyres known to be 2 secs a lap faster than the softs that others were using, AND he was in a car that is also faster, even if it had been on the same tyres as others
It must be the driver. Qualifying showed the top 9 only a half second apart.

F1 » Horner happy to be closer to Mercedes

richard:
malvecc: closer? Hamilton was 3 seconds faster than Vettel after the safety car
have you not watched the race? after sc, lulu was on new supersofts, and vettel was on part used softs. that is why lulu had to try and create a gap of 27 secs. nothing to do with "raw speed", but purely to do with tyre strategy.
The tires were not new and had run over carbon fiber. In addition he ran them to near shot and made the gap he needed. Toward the end of the stint he said the rears were gone. It was an excellent drive by Lewis.
