F1 » Six of the Best: The hardest records to beat in F1

Lewis4Jen: I think Lewis's 9 consecutive podiums as a rookie will be hard to beat. and what makes that achievement even better is that he was racing against quality drivers who had similar car performance like Alonso ,Kimi and Massa in race winning cars not dominant ones.
It's a very impressive stat, and an extremely enviable one - and yet folks on this site (purely out of spite) will childishly 'disagree' when there's absolutely no debating your point. People will say it was down solely to the car - but that doesn't explain LH beating Alonso, or Kimi winning the title.
On the contrary, I feel that man will accept that his first couple of seasons in F1 he did phenomenonly well. It is more a case of his change in attitude since he gained his first WDC that has pushed a lot of people (myself included) into disliking him. Under the current level of dominance the Merc has, say nothing about Hamiltons le

F1 » Boullier: McLaren has seconds of potential to unlock

ProfessorX: I wanna hear Mr. Honda talk to the cameras about these unlocked seconds. Honda look like they are 3-4 years behind schedule. If the rules were not so tightly screwed together Honda and Renault might have a chance and Ferrari might not have to settle for "second's". As it stands, Merc own the game and the strategy group, and the FIA have no problems with their 'agenda' ridden rule making ethos. All that needs doing is ripping about half of the regulations completely out, nobody has to vote anything in, just tear about half of the rule book out, and let real efficiency (cost too) and innovation take place.
The rules that ALL signed up to have been relaxed a number of times.

F1 » Mercedes ‘sharpening pencils’ to address F1 engine costs

jp13: Easy - cut the prize fund in half, then share it out to each engine manufacturer for start up cost contribution for the year. Then cap the cost of an engine at 1million and remove the limit of engines per season. Result, big teams doing well can choose to be profitable or faster, smaller teams earn less, but spend WAY less. They can both throw an engine at a race weekend if they need to go faster... worst case of failure for anyone, 1 million. Finally, make all engine mounting points common, maclaren can test 1 ferrari engine and 1 merc engine to find out how bad their car really is!
All engines have same bolt pattern for mounting already.

F1 » Mercedes warned for Silverstone dummy pit

rob01: Charlie and the boys said they would have NO Way of knowing whether or not it was a dummy pit stop. This race weekend if a team says pit this time or the driver says i am coming in(box). And then right before the driver reaches the pit entry he yells I am going for another lap. Is that a dummy or not???
the funny thing is that dc immediately spotted that it was a dummy pit stop, even as the crew were setting it up. so if dc could see it, then why couldnt charlie? DC says a lot of things that are not true. Now you think he is correct or is speaking the gospel.
