@karl fuller thanks for your contribution.... "plonker"? Right. Well FYI, 2013 will not be a full CRT grid. And if they want to keep Ducati, neither will be 2014. Even in if 2014 was a full CRT grid, it would be the old factory teams CRT's at the front, based on the old protos, still leaving all other CRT's in the dust with their more professional teams and riders. Haslam tried a CRT already, the NSR500V was basically a production based machine managed by an amateur team.

What are the odds that if he is given a factory Honda or Yamaha he will get all the necessary updates to compete with a Stoner or Lorenzo? Honda already has problems with a bike + team for Marquez. Because he can't replace Pedrosa in his rookie year. And Yamaha already have more riders than bikes for next year. The chance that Ducati can compete for the win next year, especially with a rev cap changing the engine demands again is pretty small. So I wouldn't blame him for walking away.
