He is saying that he could be faster, but binned it going to fast... Indeed high on meds. Somebody save this kid before he injures himself or worse, another, tomorrow.

The Ferrari-only contractual veto is for technical issues and not for budgetary issues. So they can veto a change of engine formula but not a budget cap.

Note to Honda... Have an opt-out clause like: If you break or hurt any part of your body before the season starts you are out.

The amount of people that came to Assen seemed to be bigger than ever to me. That is my biggest surprise in a time when everyone goes on about crisis.

Williams has a contract with Toyota for the delivery of engines next year. If Toyota does not deliver they are in breach of the contract and can be sued. Mercedes has a contract with Force India for five years for the engine and complete drive train. They also need to break a contract or build two sets....

Alan, it is more an open question. But legally the one who wrote the current rules has the copyright on them. You can't simply copy them. You have to make changes. It's like an architect who draws a building for you. You can create this building. But you do not suddenly have the right to build a copy without the architect's consent. I believe this is so. Maybe this will be challenged, but for sure it will lead to a feast for lawyers. Changes in the rules lead to new loopholes and areas to exploit. That means higher investments. Not nice when the returns get lower.

A FOTA package with only F1 cars does not work for tracks and television stations. What will support them? GP2 and series like that would also have to breakaway to join the FOTA. I do not see that happening. Or are the FOTA teams also going to build cars for support races? Like a Fota Super Cup with Ferrari F50's vs .... vs ... ehhhh, vs what? BMW M5's? Mercedes SLR's? Renault Laguna's? No, no, wait another open wheel class!! Eh....? Don't see that happening either. Maybe they can join the MotoGP package.... NOT.

I think that they can not run the current cars and engines in a breakaway series (F1 'copyright'). They do not have a contract with the for sponsors and television stations majorly important Monaco track. The FIA has another trick in its hat. For tracks to be allowed certain races, they need FIA track licenses. Without them they can't host FIA governed races. It might be possible that the FIA revokes the licenses of any track that wants to run FOTA races. That means no Porsche Super Cup, no GP2, no F2, no WTCC, no AMLS, nothing.
