MotoGP » Colin Edwards playing with the 'pivot'

Honda vs Yamaha open class.... The Yamaha open class bike is last years customer prototype M1 with different electronics and more fuel on a softer tire. Where you maybe buy the chassis, but lease the engine. For the lease of the engine, you can buy the whole Honda open package. Which you can sell again, update, use for many years. For the Yamaha, you again have to pay a lot of money to lease the engine for next year. If you don't want to lease it, you can basically throw away the chassis too. You get what you pay for. Not all open class Honda teams have the money to lease a Yamaha every year. And that was the design philosophy behind the Honda. As cheap as CRT with better performance. And that is what they have achieved.

MotoGP » Nicky Hayden: We need more power

Read somewhere that Honda will allow 5 engines per bike and just rebuild these every 2000 km so they can be changed 12 times or something like that. Instead of using lighter higher wear materials, increasing power and just run 12 engines into destruction over a season. Somewhere in an office in Japan some guy is being shouted at about the humiliation and that 50 years ago one would commit suicide if this happened. So there will be some changes made. At least they are beating Suzuki's effort at the moment. Suzuki should be even more embarrased.
