MotoGP » Aprilia announces full MotoGP comeback in 2016

There is some doubt that Piaggio will let Aprilia really enter. This could just be a story to take the attention away from a lack of new bikes from the group and problems with sales. Also, it is indeed a year before new rules will be introduced. So the best they could do for 2016 is take the Cube out. Modify it with RSV bits and run it with the software and sensors that are available now.

@TalentFan November 06, 2013 12:58 AM ...First the term "prototype" has had no place in GP bike racing until VERY recently. ... ----------------------------------- Maybe they called it differently in the past. But 6 cylinder 250cc/350cc 24 valve bikes were not available for the public and are still wonders of engineering today. That was pre 1969 machinery. They were also using custom build frames. Experimenting with water injection to cool things down, moving to liquid cooling. Years before you could get it. So the term may not have a recent place. The bikes have been around as prototypes for decades. You could call the move to twostrokes a move away from prototypes because those were dedicated racebikes with no proper use on the road (altough small capacity bikes were fun). They did however have prototype frames which led to the frames we use today. And maybe you like to watch the racing. There are many others out there who drivel looking at small package engines, suspension techno

F1 » F1 has lost the 'fear factor' - Davidson

It irritates me as well, that drivers run off track and can go back on without loosing too much time, just to try the same again next corner. Or cut chicanes because they made a braking mistake. Not long ago you'd loose a wing or break a wheel. Nobody wants to see drivers die or get injured. But mistakes should be punished by car damage or end of race.

MotoGP » Latest Lorenzo, Marquez clash '50-50'

I knew it would lead to a blackflag too, but first race control has to make the decision. Up to that point you are still in the race. Look at it in a legal way, not with emotion and gut feeling. Race control has to make an official decision and follow the guidelines for announcing it. Therefore it is also not correct to put Pedrosa behind Rossi. The rider could not know, at the point of going back one position, what the decision of race control was until he passed pitwall. If you want that different, push for rules that allow radio contact or better rules for the situation that the current rule created. This (blackflag situation, dropping a position) is how the FIM see it as well.
