MotoGP » Ducati rejects ‘winglets are dangerous’ argument

Cheenu: What if Dani had wings wen he hit Divi in texas. In that kind of accidents it is dangerous to have wings. It can hurt unprotected parts like neck of the rider
If Dani had hit Dovi in Texas, he would have injured him with our without the wings. The wings are "supposed" to snap off, so there is no way to say whether Dovi would have been any "more" injured. I think we need to test the wings against collisions for sure. But I'm not OK with banning them without good, objective reasons

WSBK » Hayden progress stunted in Thailand

I agree he needs be challenging or beating VMD, but at the moment he's playing catch-up. Don't downplay how good VMD is, though. He's darn good--a lot better than Lowes and Guintoli. Heck, both Hayden and VDM are better than Guintoli who couldn't do jack-bumcrack on that bike last season. And, no, the bike is not much better than it was last year.

WSBK » Hayden: Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong

Until Honda-Japan decides to enter a full factory team in WSBK, the CBR is just going to struggle against true works bikes. It seems strange that Honda would still holding a grudge over a single tire manufacturer when that has been the norm in GP for the past 8 seasons. I'd love to seem them come back because I know they would be competitive and give more credibility to their production bikes.

MotoGP » Bradley Smith ‘almost certain’ to leave Tech 3

Bradley earned his extension last season. He was on the outside looking in and managed to impress the team enough to get one more season. I think it's ridiculous Herve would tell him before the season even begins that he's not coming back. What he's regularly challenging for podiums? Anything is possible--especially seeing how much Honda is struggling at the moment. Whatever the deal is, it's another make or break season for Smith and if he wants to stick around at this level he'll need to prove he deserves to on the track and not with his words.

WSBK » Hayden treats Thailand as part of learning path

Despite the upgrades they got in Jerez, the Honda is still "relatively" inferior to the other manufacturers on the grid. Kawasaki and Ducati have been full factory efforts for years while Honda is still not technically a "factory" team as it receives no support from Japan. Even with the "supposed" new version of the Fireblade next season, that doesn't mean it will be any more competitive than it is now. Plus, we know the Yamaha factory team will get better and better as the season goes on. Nicky will always be fighting an uphill battle against better performing machines as long as he's in WSBK on that bike.

WSBK » Denning fully in favour of new WSBK race format

There's nothing wrong with optimism, but I'm less convinced the new format will work. Having a double race on Sunday was, in my opinion, one of the best differences between WSBK & MotoGP. Fans want more, not less, so it's not wise to mess with one of your best attributes. If they really want to attract fans, how about having a race on Saturday, but keep the double on Sunday and have three races each weekend.
