Great news, and I wish him a speedy recovery.

I also think there is no point speculating whether he has longterm damage or not and whether he will race again. It is very important at the time that he concentrates his efforts on getting better day by day without any pressure from outside. Let remember he hasn't been able to open his eye yet - its still early days.

His recovery is bound to be slow, thats the way the body work, and I wish him improvement every day :)

there will be no change of result from 2008, that has already been made clear the punishment will effect 2009 definitely and 2010 probably

Incredible and a HUGE admission of guilt - in their silence. I have to say I think FB especially has stuck a knife in the back of Renault F1 because they are still going to the hearing and no one 'defending' - or ready to take the flack - FB should have been the scapegoat and taken the flack as it was clearly his decision. but in stepping down he has run away from responsibilty. For sure this is the end of Renault with this admission of guilt they will be hung, drawn and quartered. Such a shame - an incredibly abd decision from the team

interesting news consider Lotus F1 have now been granted a space on the 2010 grid - and 'BMW' team on the 'reserve' list because the future was uncertain for them. Very interesting indeed as they do not automatically have a confirmed grid slot next year

brilliant race from FIF1 - really enjoyed watching them do really well. And how well they both qualified compared to Fisi - must have given the team a real boost Well done !

Does anyone agree that F1 has become a completely political and manipulated sport? I love FA, and I am happy to see him racing this weekend at Valencia - but I completely disagree with the way F1 is policed at the moment. Heavy handed stewards decisions, inconsistant decisions, appeals and overturns. It seems to me now that the sport is run for effect, for reaction and for press coverage. Please just put on a race series, where drivers entertain us, and we love to watch - without all the rubbish and politics in between.

this is sad for BMW who have been good competitors to date and again a loss from the grid I really hope this gives Prodrive the opportunity, it would be great to see them in F1 again

if you watch the footage of the pit stop - the engineer on the wheel in question did not raise his hand to indicate he had finished and was clear to go. He was not ready. At the same time the lollipop man did raise the lollipop alowing Alonso to drive off. The lollipop man got it wrong - as they sometimes do. Everyone is human and mistakes happen. how many times has a lollipo man released a car which still has the fuel hose attached? It happens

I know its coming up in various discussions that Alonso may well drive for Ferrari at Valencia somehow I really can't see Renault agreeing to this - massive breach of contract - except if it happened, they'd sack him, and then he'll be free to go to Ferrari anyway..
