MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: Agostini still the greatest.

when rossi lost his title in 06 to hayden he could have stomp off crying and blaming any number of incidents throughout that racing season (engine failure-twice, tire failure, being knocked down - yes also like hayden I know, edwards not beating hayden (assen), but what lost him the title was when he let elias pass him at the line for the win (can't remember the track), I think rossi learned alot from that incident. He missed out on being the sole champing of the 990 era. (now that whould have been a hard record for anyone to beat.) but knew he could only blame himself for letting up at the line and being passed for the win.

waz It's not faux humility, its respect. This is a true legend in the making, he understands the greatness of the men that came before him and will always respect it and them, but his disire and drive to be the greatest off all time is only surpassed by his god given talent handling machines at a high rate of speed, and to enjoy the rewards that come from this combination is not a crime (as great as rainy is he never was happy winning......sad) now to ago... did he win consecutive races with two different manufactures - The second being what was considered at the time inferior machinery. did he regain his title not once but twice.
