MotoGP » Casey Stoner set for V8 Supercar deal?

@Dave A). Read what Wylecoyote wrote (I wonder if Wylie ever raced CS??) Anyway he's got a point, it won't be the first time he's trundled round on four wheels, he's quick in karts and as stated his test in the V8's was very promising. B). Re me taking a bet - as soon as CS confirms he's racing, I certainly will look at odds. Whilst you're raving about VR's results at Monza, consider his performance in the Blancpain series - deeper level of quick drivers = more realistic result.

MotoGP » Stoner: Mugello my biggest mistake

Motomonkey. Read my earlier post - it's about the racing!! For the record I do know CS and he's an alright bloke. He's crap at PR - are you brilliant? - but he's ONE of the top racers in the world. VR tries hard to be the PR World Champ - it's one of the parts of racing that he seems to love. Casey struggles with that bit but it's his personality. As to why he's retiring, it's beacuse he doesn't want to be there any more, don't forget he left Aus when he was 14 and he loves his home - why not? IF he ever read this forum and your type of posts it would confirm he'd made the right decision. This is my last post on this subject!

MotoGP » Stoner: Mugello my biggest mistake

Do we really have to scrutinise every little nuance of every word uttered by our 'heroes' They're racers - not PR/public speaking experts. Do you REALLY want to listen/read or watch the best in the world slug it out? The old saying 'you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone' will apply when CS goes to V8's -you'll see.Love him or hate him he's awsome to watch. But you could just read transcripts of what he says - if that's what you enjoy...

MotoGP » Valentino Rossi: Audi 'counting on me' at Ducati

Not sure what Audi will bring to the party unless they hire a load of designers/engineers from Japan. Car designers generally bring power without the bike know-how to get it down through the bike tyre/chassis dynamics. My guess is that they'll end up with a more costly failure - much more likely Cal, if he goes there will outperform VR. As for VR being wanted for cars - Audi have a warehouse full of very taleted drivers and results are what count for VAG, not romance.

MotoGP » Rossi: We’ll see where we stand

Vale knew that the Duc was a donkey and was swayed by the money. He'd seen CS struggle with it(at close quarters!!) and still did the deal. A very few riders have the mindset to ride even a MotoGPdonkey - T Bayliss/C Stoner but not V Rossi. Anyone that could look and listen to the CS/Ducati combo as far back as 2007 could see that it was hard work for Casey. It's too damn long!

WSS » PTR boss: Sofuoglu penalty not harsh enough

Buckmaster is correct on all points. I have yet to see in print what Sofuoglu thought had happened to justify his behaviour. If it is just that he has no control over his anger, the FIM should seriously look at suspending his license - he is clearly a little self destructive and other riders could get caught up in his crazyness. Foret, appeared not to have a clue what had riled him, and, it seemed to accept that it was normal behaviour for Sofuoglu. As an aside, the 600's, both Moto2 and SS600 are great spectacle!
