Let me get this straight. A man paints his face black and points at a steering wheel and this is viewed as a HEINOUS act? Seriously? Have we become maybe just a bit too sensitive?

Has the man called for violence against any of the racers? Has the crowd called for violence? Not as far as I am aware.

Suppose a fan shaves his head and makes fun of Rubens Barichello's baldness. Would that be HEINOUS too? Or would that just be one fan with bad taste? What if someone put on a big nose and made fun of Kubica?

Is it only skin color that we must pretend not to notice?

This is surreal.

Please, no personal attacks. I just don't understand the reaction here.

Nice one for Kimi. Had to figure he was going to be aggressive at the start. Spa loves Kimi. The US telecast on SpeedTV suggested that the shunt at Les Combes on lap 1 was somehow Kimi's fault. I don't see how that could be true. I did see him get out of shape on the corner, while following Fisichella. Kimi must be a real magician if he can cause an incident 10 slots behind him. Too bad about RBR. Poor quali, poor starting position. Vettel had good speed during the race but Webber did not. He was passed several times at speed. And then the pit lane violation. With their performance over the past 3 weeks, they are losing the WDC and constructor's championship.

Fisi's post race comments were sort of weird. I guess he felt a big letdown, after having won pole and then been faster all day, couldn't make the pass. About the Kimi/Fisichella on-track battle, I don't think the fix was in. But that's just me. And for KERS - do the KERS cars actually carry extra weight? I thought the weights were the same. You can say "the other teams should have developed KERS" but as the Ferrari and Mercedes experience showed earlier in the season, it was not easy, not a minor effort. 8 weeks ago the conclusion was the exact opposite. Brawn and RBR were winning and KERS was proven to be a huge waste of effort and money.

Matafuko, take your attitude and language somewhere else. We don't want it here. You are not funny, helpful, clever, or insightful. If you want to disagree with a post, fine. State your opinion and stay away from insults and name-calling.

I don't understand why Raikonnen pitted on the same lap as Fisichella. With 7kg more weight at the start than Fisichella, is that not enough for another lap? I expected him to pit 1 lap later and consolidate an advantage based on that. It was surprising to see both Kimi and Fisi in the pits at the same time, for both stops. Also notable, Kimi ran 2 stints on option tires while most other teams went for the prime tires. Barachello switched out his options after a single lap and didn't go back.

el cabron, don't feed the trolls. You cannot blame Webber for either of the pit lane incidents this year. His chief mechanic releases him to go - the error was not with the driver. Calling him an idiot shows you don't understand what happened.

The medal system is not part of 2010 regs. That idea was scrapped. For 2010, we will have the same points system as is in place today. f1.gpupdate.net/en/news/2009/08/20/no-changes-to-2010-points-system/

It's just a gift to Badoer. At first they wanted a real racer, or 8/10 of a real racer, in Schumi. Now don't get your knickers in a twist - I say 8/10 because he hasn't been in an F1 car for 3 years and it ain't easy coming back, evven for a great one. Schumi would be perfect because there is no long term commitment. He was already retired and if he did "just ok" through the balance of 2009, he could return to his role as consultant with his reputation intact. Ferrari would be free to contact any driver it chooses in 2010. If he did well, Schumi could make a bid for a full return for 2010. The PR advantage with Schu is obvious. ...continued...

That fell through. Plan B cannot be to poach a driver from a fellow FOTA team. It would be disruptive for both sides. Imagine if Fisichella were in the Ferrari car for 1/3 of a season. What a mess contract negotiation would be for 2010. What happens to Alonso or Kimi? Or what if they brought in Kubica? It marks him as disloyal to all other future prospective teams. Another option is to bring in a GP2 driver, but this also is not a good option. Ferrari isn't interested in training GP2 drivers. Bringing them in for 1/2 a season would be disruptive to everyone. The best option is someone "in the Ferrari family", who wouldn't throw a spanner into 2010 driver negotiations: Badoer.

based on my personal clairvoyance, here's the predicted finishing order: 1. Kimi 2. Trulli 3. Rubens 4. Heidfeld 5. Hamilton 6. GC Fisi 7. Kubica 8. Glock 9. Vettel 10. Webber or Rosberg 11. Alonso 12. Sutil 13. Button 14. Kovi 15. ??

Has he got the yips? What the h3ll happened to him? 6 wins of 7 races, he was invincible. He was making the season a yawner. Now he is scraping to get out of Q1. Darn shame that RBR isn't able to capitalize on Button's collapse. Would love to see Webber or Vettel win. But with the way things are going it sure looks like it will be Rubens. (no complaints there). If Rubens finishes 1st and Button out of the points, it would be an 8-point delta. Wow.
