F1 fans would forget Robert Kubica long before they forget Ferrari

Alonso is the most talented driver on the grid, and also least sportsmanlike. If Ferrari does sign him, surely they must realize you have to take the garbage with the good.

TLR Regardless of the events of this particular crash, Hopkins likes the gravel. He hasn't made it through a race weekend all year without throwing it down at some point.

I don't take pleasure in seeing any rider get hurt, but Hopkins has been a crasher his entire MotoGP/WSBK career. Maybe he should learn the limits of the bike and ride within them, destroying himself and equipment is counterproductive. He obviously cannot push the performance envelope and stay upright like Rossi or a few others can. I'm not sure why Stiggy would keep him if they switch to Yamaha, they will have their pick of riders.

"That's not what F1 is about" For the teams who spend millions it certainly is about business and not about sporting competition or and especially not about putting on a show for the fans. Many of the wealthy backers of the sport got to where they are through various schemes and business moves that could be deemed as "cheating" or gaming the system by many. Naive to think that guys so practiced pushing the margin of the rules of their respective business interests would suddenly become honest in F1.

Brilliant winning strategy. If the sanctioning body is so stupid to put another street circuit other than Monaco (with all its known problems) on the calendar, you can't blame teams for gaming the system. The team principal's job is to figure out a way to get the best result possible for the team, not provide the best racing. If you have one capable driver and one dog like NP Jr, the sacrifice of the dog's result is an easy choice. The team did its job, the FIA didn't by making the race vulnerable to such manipulations. Perhaps the best solution in a safety car scenario is to stop entirely and restart in the order of the previous lap, no pit stops allowed.

Tech 3 has all but said Toseland is gone. With the most coveted private ride in the paddock they have riders like Vermuelen willing to ride it for free. Toseland would be a big star again in WSBK. It is obvious he will leave. Edwards is now hedging his bets and talking about money whether he returns, sounds like he too has another offer that pays more and may add to his retirement fund at Aprilia in WSBK. Spies may do the math and realize he can make more in WSBK too. Hopkins is dreaming if he thinks Tech3 is an option. IMO, Hayden's first preference would be to stay at Ducati Marlboro, but if he is not signed he will likely remain in MotoGP. He might be the only Yank left

What the heck does 2006 have to do with 2010? 25 years from now the Rossi leg-humpers will be complaining about the season he choked at Valencia.

Mladin must not want to gig because otherwise he is the best rider available. How long is Neukirchner out anyway? It seems like he was hurt ages ago.

IF Rossi actually made the switch, I think it might not turn out as he hoped. He would have a short carrer, maybe five years at most. Unless he had success early on, he will become just "the motorcycle guy that couldn't cut it in F1". He is considered only a half-step below God on two wheels, his considerable ego might struggle with being a grid filler in F1. Race MotoGP through 2011 when you will have every record, then go to WSBK for a couple more years and win that too, another feat never seen.

Ago also has eight premier championships. Rossi could match that after winning this year and next. Stoner may retire, Lorenzo may ride the evil Duck. That only leaves Pedrosa as a championship contender next year. Getting 21 more wins might be tough to do unless he rides in 2011 though. But won't he be too old (32 by then) to start an F1 career?
