'New era' for MotoGP as 1,000cc returns in 2012
7 agree.
The max bore of 81mm is significant as it sets a practical limit on rpms as well (about 16,000 rpm). Pneumatic springs will probably not be needed and the bikes will have reasonable torque. Perhaps these engines will prove to be quite a but cheaper than the current 800cc bikes. Giving potential new teams two years to prepare is a great idea too. Probably more than one at the CAD station as we speak...

WSBK stars back on track tomorrow.
9 agree.
6 disagree.
Toseland, while being consistently outclassed in MotoGP, remains a great Superbike rider. I know many like the newer faces such as Rea and Crutchlow, but Toseland will demonstrate why he is a two-time champion in the series.

OFFICIAL: Raikkonen inks Citroen WRC deal
1 disagrees.
Only 12 races throughout the season. I wonder if he has an agreement with Citroen that he can drive another brand of F1 car as well should a fill-in seat become available later in the season?

'Positive feedback' for 1000cc MotoGP - Pt 2.
1 agrees.
1 disagrees.
MotoGP can't go to 600cc and can't stay at 800cc without electronics because if they did either then WSBK bikes would be the "fastest". MotoGP cannot be seen as inferior to WSBK. So they will go bigger, my guess is the final displacement will not be exactly 1000cc, but a little more or maybe a little less than a liter. 950-1100cc IMO. Having a maximum of four cylinders is a good idea, banning pneumatic valves is another possibility. The trick will be to let them have a displacement large enough that constructors can build an engine with "more than enough" power without resorting to exotic designs.

Vermeulen begins Kawasaki testing
5 agree.
He has a two-year contract and the 2011 ZX is supposed to be a big-bang engine. 2010 Learning year with the team, 2011 assault on the title. If BMW can run in the top 6 with Corser, surely Kawasaki can get there with Vermuelen.

Brawn making Button feel unwanted, claims manager
1 disagrees.
I find it a bit funny that Button could have sat home in 2009 and made more from Honda that he made actually driving for Brawn in 2009, and probably more than he will make for 2009 AND 2010, even as WDC. Based on his results prior to 2009, he was highly overpaid for several season, seems fitting he might be a bit underpaid going forward. The guys that actually write the checks are unsure he is anything more than a one-year wonder. Hate away...

Brawn refuses to budge on Button pay demands
3 agree.
5 disagree.
Hamilton and Button on the same team would be my preferred scenario. Then all will see who is the better driver. Button will look mediocre, it will be clear Lewis is superior. Kimi in a Brawn would be good to see too, although I have a feeling he might just retire rather than take a huge pay cut. He has nothing left to prove.

POLL: How will Ben Spies fare on Yamaha debut?
3 agree.
16 disagree.
He will be the top private team rider, sixth is my guess. Top 6: Lorenzo Stoner Rossi Hayden Pedrosa Spies Toseland will score less than 3 points.

F1 champion Button admits to 'doubts and weaknesses'
4 agree.
More like good on Ross Brawn for a clearly superior yet rule-abiding design that let Jenson accumulate a huge point lead in the first few races. Also good on the Brawn GP team for near faultless reliability along with Mercedes providing the best engine money could buy. There are at least half a dozen drivers that would have won the championship in the Brawn this year (Button, Kimi, Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel, Massa). Jenson just happens to be one of them. He made the most of his opportunity in 2009.
