MotoGP » Ben Spies: The moment I decided to leave Yamaha

No question Ben had some really bad breaks last year, but as much as I wanted him to do well I have to admit I noticed he was reluctant to push when the track was tricky--damp patches say. He wants perfect conditions and comfort with the bike to give 100%. That doesn't get it at the highest level. He's a fine rider but he just doesn't have all the arrows to dominate. I hope he at least can equal Dovi on the Duck otherwise he is finished in MotoGP

MotoGP » Marquez on the move

So Honda is placing all their chips on Marc. Not surprising as the peerless Stoner is gone and Pedro, no mater how fine a rider is, just doesn't seem to be a winner. Will Pedro be shocked like Nicky was when the new bike was tailored to his team mate. There stature is similar so maybe not. But Pedro might notice he has become a second class citizen.

MotoGP » F1 impressed with new US MotoGP venue

Awful! All those red lines. Give me Watkins Glen in the late 60s. A strip of asphalt snaking through the trees! No run off. When men were men. No bike races there unfortunately but GP cars and Can Am and Trans Am--the golden years of motor racing. 1000HP Porches fire breathing monsters. Just imagine this circuit when the puny 4 cylinder turbos arrive. Are they serious? No doubt they will have to call in the NASCAR taxi cabs to make the circuit pay. What a laugh. And the klutzes in the stands will lap it up.

MotoGP » Ben Spies forced to delay Ducati debut

If Ben thought he had bad luck before, he really took a major hit last week end The ligament hold the shoulder up and engineering a substitute sling is tricky surgery. Don't know how strong the repair would be. I wouldn't be surprised if he decided, like Casey, to retire. I had the same injury but didn't go for the surgery and it looks like hell with one shoulder hanging down but I am too far down life''s rocky road to worry about it. It did hurt for almost a year after.
