MotoGP » Gresini confirms Spies, Redding interest

Agreed that neither Smith or Redding have shown what it takes to move to MotoGP next year. Unless Herve believes his bike in Moto2 is total crap. Either of the Espagaro brothers would be a better bet. Spies has shown a nagging lack of commitment IMO. Take Phillip Island in his first year: he wouldn't leave the garage because he considered the conditions too dangerous. But all the other riders did. He has to turn this preception around if he wants a career in MotoGP.

MotoGP » Spies' rotten luck continues at Brno

MotoGP is the top of the tree...WSBK is for has beens. Ben owes it to himself to take another slice at the cake and prove to himself what he is made of. He is given to being over cautious and slackening off in tricky conditions which must have angered his employers. He has the speed. He needs the determination of a Stoner. But his life now outside of racing might trump any idea of an all out commitment.

MotoGP » Yamaha explain Valentino Rossi’s return

@marc "I think Jorge would honestly have preferred to keep Ben as his team-mate, and that was the way we were going as well in our early mid-season planning. " So what does that mean? If Spies had any leverage in keeping his ride he blew it in an emotional tweet because someone, Mary Spies is supposed to have said not Lyn Jerves, disrespected Ben after Mugello. The evidence is that it was a planned move to piss Ben off and do just exactly what he did. He played write into their hands and they probably couldn't believe their good fortune. You don't show your cards until the hand is over.

MotoGP » Yamaha explain Valentino Rossi’s return

@Realist So Rossi had already decided that Ducati wasn't ever going to give him a winner but there was all that loot on the table so he was stringing Ducati along, not taking any risks if he could help it while Yamaha was giving Ben Yamaha rejects and making nice about how much they supported him. Well, it's a tough world and money talks and bull ****e walks as they say. Ben and Mama just aren't up to the game at this level.I suppose it's forlorn hope that he could return on a Suzuki but even that would be a gamble for him. Ben should emulate Rossi and coast from now on.

MotoGP » Yamaha explain Valentino Rossi’s return

I still would like the straight poop about how this came down. "I would say there had been some discussion in the background for some time about a return to Yamaha for 2013 and the real negotiations probably began in July." Sounds like Yamaha decided to ditch Ben well before even Mugello and Ben took the bait and made Yamaha's job immeasurably easier by quitting, Now Yamaha is trying to have it both ways by insinuating Ben had the ride if he wanted it. Ben is immature and easily manipulated.
