MotoGP » Ben Spies believes in Catalunya turn around

I agree with joe850. Ben is in terror of racing in mixed conditions when the element of chance or luck becomes a fairly large part of the equation. He began to show that at Phillips Island several years ago when he declined to leave the garage for a practice session. This is a fatal flaw and it forecasts a career of mediocrity. I expect to see him back in the US where the sun always shines.

MotoGP » Schumacher: Stoner young enough for sabbatical

Casey needs love and adulation and he feels it's not forthcoming so he is quitting. Could be hie dedication to racing from his earliest years have led to a diminished personality and he felt his reward for his peerless skill would be universal affection. He didn't reckon on nationalistic loyalties and the remoteness of Australia in the moto world scene and the need to overcome the fanatical affection to Vale, and how his displacement of this hero would result in negative attitudes. Can't blame him but he needs to adopt a f*ck you attitude and carve his own legend in the MotoGP history books. I hope he does.

MotoGP » More race misery for 'blind' Ben Spies

Wonder what happened to the Southener and RawRawg? fair weather friends. It seems clear that the riders that went thru the Dorna training routine feeder system have a distinct advantage. They have raced these tracks over and over in all weather conditions. Only the best of the best reach the top. Racing in the US during summer will not prepare a rider for European racing. Ben was lucky during his debut year in WSB not to have adverse weather. His luck has run out big time and unless there are sunny skies from here on in he is gone.
