F1 » Kubica: Not time to discuss my future

Kubica is not a superstar, nor is he super talented. Like many, he would win in the right car. He can up his game at times - and may well pace Alonso at Ferrari. In a poor car, he doesn't shine. This year's Renault is good - even rookie Petrov is running in the top 10... Personally, I'd like to see him at Ferrari. He would probably perform the same as Alonso, at a fraction of the price - and produce more than Massa, who's return has been pretty non-descript...

F1 » Alonso: Schumacher move 'didn't surprise me'

I am not a Schmucher fan, but I believe Mercedes should have won that appeal. That they withdrew it is a surprise. The safety car was coming in that lap, whether there was 1 corner, 1 lap or 10 laps to go. So, they were no longer under yellow and could pass - from the safety car line until the finish line. That some drivers were told race and others were told to hold places, shows the confussion. Personally, I'm glad MS lost his points. But, I reckon he may actually have been correctly informed. What's more Alonso was particularly slow on that final lap. I think he was 2.5 seconds slower than those around him - so as the others were accelerating to the line, he was cruising - and MS struck!

F1 » Sauber: It was right to rescue team

Yeps, none of these so called 'super subs' (Panis, Wurz, de la Rosa, Badoer etc.) have ever performed in races. They're glorified testers, cast-aways... Sure, keep Pedro for testing(?) and development - and Koba as #2 - but you have to have an experienced and motivated lead driver. It's a huge pity - let's hope the Sauber legacy can be revived!

F1 » Brawn: Button brave to join McLaren

The talent gap between Hamilton and Kovalainen is probably marginal. In fact, I'd go as far as to say Kovi is better than Lewis... But, at McLaren, Hamilton made Heikki look very weak for 2 years... If Jenson can seriously challenge Hamilton - and even come a close second - he will come out with his reputation improved. Can he do worse than Kovi? Probably not. His luck simply cannot be that bad!
