RECOMMENDED COMMENT
12 agree.
8 disagree.
I have to agree with Aeolus on this one. Not on the fact that BSB doesn't prepare a rider, but winning one's domestic series means nothing in translation to consistent success on the WSBK circus. Case in point:
Byrne: 2 time BSB champion
Kiyonari: 2 time BSB champion
Lavilla: BSB champion
Borciani: CIV champion
Bayliss and Spies are just a notch better than the competition but this doesn't guarantee anything either in the move to MotoGP.

Fonsi Nieto joins DFX Ducati.
I'm glad to see Fonsi back. He obviously does the business for Pepephone and they don't mind buying his ride. Race 2 in Qatar in 2008 was a great display by Fonsi. On a decent team with a decent bike he can do well. His 2008 campaign with Alstare Suzuki proved it. They should have kept him instead of Kagayama. A team of Neukirchner and Nieto would have been great for Suzuki.

Tost admits everything rests on STR Hungarian upgrade
2 agree.
Tost is a moron. Both cars are at the back of the grid but yet one driver hasn't lived up to his expectations. It seems to me that it's more likely a personality conflict and he saw the chance to get rid of someone whom he doesn't get along with. I'm not a fan of Seb but that comment made Tost look more inept and stupid than he already is.

Hopkins leads Haslam despite time-out
I'm finding this very odd as well. This is a spec tire series so why is it that some teams get to test development tires and other teams do not? It's not like the Stiggy outfit is some **** team that are back markers. Even if they were, as a one make tire series, ALL teams should get access to test new rubber. It's not as if Pirelli are broke and they can't afford to hand out two sets of rubber to the teams present.

Rea ends Imola test in charge
2 agree.
While I'm not a supporter/fan of Rea, all I can say is good for him. He's showing his true potential and is getting better as the season progresses. With his maiden victory in WSBK fresh on his mind and confidence boosters such as this, hopefully we'll see him fighting at the front regularly now. He's a young kid who's hungry just like Spies is. It only makes for better and more exciting races for the racers and for us fans. Now let's see if Kiyo can pull his finger out and start showing what made him a 2 time BSB champ.

Neukirchner breaks vertebra on return
Reminds me of the Cream song Born Under a Bad Sign..."if it wasn't for bad luck, I wouldn't have no luck at all..." Max is a good rider but this can't be making Francis Batta happy at all. I hope that Francis doesn't take a dim view of Max and that this doesn't affect his continuing with the team into hopefully next year. Get well my fellow Kraut!!!

Checa targets Ducati, Yamaha scalp
While the whole concept of getting rid of these old "farts" may be a popular sentiment it's not going to happen as long as they are semi competitive. They bring something very important to every team that they are with...sponsorship money!!! If a young gun has no money, a semi competitive rider with money will get the ride. Perfect example is Hopkins. Checa is another good one. The teams are not there to make fans happy...they are there to win and money for long term development plays a huge part in that especially if there's two or even three seats available in a team. TK is a great example of this. I like seeing Checa there. He's the new Chili. Ironic that he has Chili's old number.

Tommy Hill to Worx Suzuki at Mallory.
3 agree.
I think the user "You guys haven't got a clue!!!!!" is Tommy Hill. So we're all uninformed but you're the only informed one here...LOL!! I don't think Tommy HAS 3-4 races to prove his worth. He better hit the ground running to raise his stock as a racer.

Tommy Hill to Worx Suzuki at Mallory.
1 disagrees.
Sorry to say but this kid is a supersport rider and that's it for the time being. His Althea ride in WSBK was a disaster and his replacement has more points to his name than Tommy had during his time there. He's starting to look like Muggers...rides 600s well but can't come to grips with a sbk.

Toseland black flag for missing 'harsh' penalty.
This is just a reminder of the disaster that has been James Toseland's MotoGP career. If JT is smart, he'll go back to WSBK where he was very successful. Face it, he's a sbk rider...just like Bayliss, Edwards and Vermeulen. It's time for guys like Edwards, Hopper, Toseland, Vermeulen and Elias to move on. Bayliss tried, said screw it and went back to something that he knew he was awesome at. To top it off he got that wildcard win which was fanatastic. JT should take a page out of Bayliss's book and make himself the awesome sbk rider that he is.

Grip issues hinder Rutter at Knockhill
Enough with Tommy Hill. His replacement at Althea Honda in WSBK, Lagrive, is already doing better than he did. Yes the bike is crap but when your replacement does better than you...well that's all that needs to be said. Why do some think he deserves a BSB ride?!?!? The R6 Cup proves that he's a SS rider for now and nothing else. MAYBE and that's a big maybe, a backmarker privateer BSB ride but no way in hell a factory ride.
