WSBK » WSS: Laverty: I've had no WSBK offers yet

He's a great rider but you know why no SBK teams have approached him? You all know why. Success at the WSS level has NEVER translated to success at the SBK level. Name me one WSS champ that has had consistent SBK success other than Vermeulen. The talk here of him "deserving" a SBK ride or a MotoGP ride is just nationalism talking. The facts speak for themselves. Now before anyone disagrees, do so but then post a rebut and post some facts that prove the above wrong.

WSBK » Kiyonari: The problem is the rider!

I have to agree with Aeolus on this one. Not on the fact that BSB doesn't prepare a rider, but winning one's domestic series means nothing in translation to consistent success on the WSBK circus. Case in point: Byrne: 2 time BSB champion Kiyonari: 2 time BSB champion Lavilla: BSB champion Borciani: CIV champion Bayliss and Spies are just a notch better than the competition but this doesn't guarantee anything either in the move to MotoGP.

WSBK » Smrz confident of race pace, eyes podium

I've been hoping for awhile for Smrz to start putting it together. Putting a privateer package on pole is no small feat when you look at this years factory talent. He'll remember this for a long time to come and I'm hoping that this is the beginning of good things for this guy. He's been riding the wheels off that Guandalini machine and it's starting to pay off for him.

WSBK » Misano - Race results (2)

Jakub Smrz is really starting to impress me. I was slightly under the impression that the 3rd place in Assen was just a fluke but he seems to be improving little by little. If he can keep this up and keep pushing, he might be able to challenge for wins by the end of the season. Good for him and wish him all the luck.

WSBK » Frustration setting in, Spies confesses

Sounds to me like the "off the line" electronics malfunctioned. We don't really see burnt clutches anymore now that the riders have a starting line aid in their electronics package. However, these things are still computers and like most computers they will malfunction and do need to be recalibrated or whatever the crews do. But at the end of the day, that's racing. It is what it is and all the team and rider can do is go to the next race and do their best. We all seem to forget that in addition to the best package and top rider you need luck sprinkled in throughout the season to take the crown.
