It's very simple, if a rookie, Jaime Alguersuari a driver with NO F1 experience at all is not allowed to test his car before his first race.

Then WHY ON EARTH should a seven-time world champion be allowed too!

WOW! April 1st came early for 2010. Since Mercedes are a major share holder in McLaren F1(around 40%) Merc and McLaren are join owners of the team, not temporary partners, so the car is always going to be Merc powered, unless they decide to badge the engine with McLaren's name. As others have said, if their is any truth in this its about Merc and McLaren getting their hands on a new engineering base to maybe free up mercs engine department for other things.

Anyone who thinks in the heat of a race and the rush going on in the pits, that you could start reading a script on the radio, so one of F1's most stupid and poor drivers could get the message to crash is just loony!! Renault is a company and when it comes to protecting the Company, it does not matter what is Right OR Wrong, protecting the Company is ALL that matters. Everyone knows Mosley is out to get Flav, and this is the perfect chance, Mosley will steer the FIA court in the direction he wants, which is GET FLAV, stuff the facts, GET FLAV! Renault have taken action to protect the team from Mosleys ire as best they can, by dumping Flav and Pat.

I would not put it past Flavio, he has too much of a past record in getting up to high jinks to say what a load of rubbish. But my bet is it's just a bit of mud slinging by a lad in the local press who has just found he is not valued by the rest of the F1 teams as much as he thought he was. He knows he is out of F1 and is getting his own back the way any spoilt kid might do. By calling people names. How glad I am the little twit is gone from F1.

The problem for some drivers is when they step up to F1, they find they just don't have what it takes, they may even be great drivers in other formats, Alan McNish anyone, he just could not make the car work in F1 for him, but stick him in a car at LeMans... and watch the man go! But to be honest Piquet Jn never had it. His old man had to remind him when he said it was too dangerus to race with a full tank of fuel in 2010. 'What'd think your old man was racing with son!. Piquet Jn also said: Monoco is such a dangeus place to drive, that all you can think of when racing is crashing. Compared that to what Alonso said about Monoco: It's SO exciting racing here. Nuff said.

Well, thank god the damn things finaly been signed. And soon MM will be gone. I know he'll still be around with the FIA, but FOTA will be able to by and large be rid of him. I'm a little bit sorry they did not break away. But it was nice of FOTA to email every one who emailed their support to them. Oh well, three weeks to go till life begins again!

Shumi back in F1, Lewis and Michael fighing it out on the track, and Alonso after the one race ban if up held and they short fuel the car. YES!! their is an F1 God up in the heavens. But hang on a bit, hey Ferrari!, whats the point of having a reserve driver at ferrari then, if he can't test cus its banned, and then when you are a driver down, you still don't put him in the car, as you bring out old shumi? Being the reserve driver at Ferrari must be the most pointless job in the world. :?

The BBC sports web site say if Max does not sign an note agreeing to hold by the FOTA/FIA agreement. Then FOTA/CVC/FOM with go it alone with a new series?? things are indeed moving and the crunch date is this Wednesday. Max signs THEIR contract, or its good bye FIA. Now we know what all those chats with cvc were about. forgot to add story heading on bbc website: F1 row nears endgame

First thing, he's not after a ride with the big teams, he after a ride with USA1. Second, he is just what they need, he's older now and I'm sure calmed down a bit since his old F1 days. USA1 needs a driver who knows how an F1 car runs, everytime a US driver crosses over the first thing they say is how sharper the cars are to drive, from far later braking, to their being a far narrower gap between the cars best, and its falling off the track than US cars. So they do need someone who knows how the cars should act on the track. He is what they need for car development, and for setting the cars up at the races. If they go with Danica for her PR value, they do need someone to lead the way.

Someone (sorry, forgot your name & whereabouts of your post) on here was right when they said we should email FOTA and tell them we are behind them for a new FOTA Race Series. Enough emails and they just might get the courage to break free. They were only a day away from doing it on thusday and intending to do it then. So a bit of backbone from them, and support from us and who knows! I've emailed them, so if you want a Fota series, give'em an email. :)
