MotoGP » Mugello: Rossi without a tow, third row

Lets not forget that Rossi is riding Jorge's bike conditioned for him the way he wants it, since 2012. Perhaps even bringing over some of the 800cc technology to the 1000cc bike. Jorge's 2013 choice of the new frame/chassis seems to be the way to go. Rossi needs to throw caution to the wind and try Jorge's way as he is always .500 secs ahead of him it seems. Good luck Rossi you're a hero already, just finish up your career with a few wins and lets welcome the new Rossi a.k.a Marc Marquez.

MotoGP » POLL: Who should be Suzuki’s number one target for MotoGP?

Hi all My pick would be for Ben Spies. He is worthy and does have some history with winning at Suzuki when he was in AMA. In 2008 when he rode the 800cc Suzuki GSV-R, he placed 14th at Donington, 8th at Laguna Seca and 6th at Indianapolis. He understands their brand an have shown he can ride with the best in Motogp by having pole and a win already since being there. As per Wikipedia, "He was not offered a full-time ride by Suzuki for 2009 with all the success he gave to Suzuki and had an option year in his contract. The decision was made by Mel Harris who now is no longer with Suzuki. Masayuki Itoh retired because of the departure of Spies." There is some unfinished business at Suzuki for Ben Spies.

MotoGP » Ducati works on factory electronics, satellite set-up

RawDawg....if it comes from the riders own mouth, I believe what I read. It's in black and white....sorry if Casey makes your "pluck from thin air theories" wrong. You did read that Casey tested the CF and wanted it immediately. Perhaps funding was not there at the time to get it to him. Who knows? .... but we might have seen 4 wins that year instead of 6 wins. That Ducati choose to listen to Casey their lead rider with the most wins at that time to develop the bike towards the direction he pointed them in. The sent Melandri to a shrink for his input. In hindsight Marco was on to something and Casey was not.

Casey must have deja vu. The same senario repeated like 2007 for his 2011 venture. Hopefully he does not lead them down the wrong path. Casey is the one that called for the switch to CF in 2008.....he got it in 2009 and we know the disastrous results. Stoner: I Wanted Carbon In 2008 by chase winstead www.superbikeplanet.com/2012/Feb/120214a.htm "There were quite a lot of changes, and the biggest thing with Ducati that we found is that in the middle of 2008 we first tried the carbon chassis, and we begged and pleaded for it for the second half of the season so we would have had a very competitive bike to try and win that championship," Stoner said. "But there's no way we got it. We got a lot of things we asked for, but unfortunately eight months late. And then by the time you needed the next thing, you'd have to wait six or eight months. "That was the biggest thing we struggled with. We just couldn't get what we wanted when we needed it."

Hmm..finally I found the correct password. RawDawg...A bike is fine tuned by the input from the rider and that rider say/feedback is of great value to the maker of the bike. Otherwise, we could all go out and buy store bikes made by the Factory, based on their R & D and tech., mechs. etc... Unfortunately, for Motogp, that could never work as every part must be tested and it's the rider and chief mechanic that have this say. It's why Masao Furusawa holds Rossi up so high as to the M1's reversal of fortunes. Yes, he made/designed the best bike, but he left the choices up to Rossi, even at times the data via computer said Rossi choices was sometimes wrong. It's why Lorenzo choosed to go back the the 2010 M1 in 2011. Rossi 2011 ride failed, that is correct, he did his best on what was a bike that Casey could never win a WC on. Casey's ride after 2007 was that of diminishing returns, the bike never got better year after year, it got worse, until he quit abrutly at the beginning of 2010.

Rossi, JB and Ducati did try in 2011 with everything possible, to no avail. Let's see 2012 with the bike 90 percent new and with input from Rossi and JB. Judgement is still out, but the bike does seem sweet handling already. The electronics will come in time and it does not have to be the fastest bike as we saw in 2008 and 2009 and 2010 from Jorge. Rossi can lead, he been there done that, have you.
