F1 » US GP construction 'on schedule'

I for one really want an F1 race in the US. Do I think Texas is the best place for it? Definitely not. That's NASCAR country... Best quote I heard last week: NASCAR is the WWE of motorsports. :-) Anyway, a race in California would make a lot more sense. It is a more cosmopolitan place where F1 has some support already. Problem is I don't know a track that could accomodate F1... Laguna Seca would be awesome, but it's not realistic. Bummer.

F1 » Hamilton gets another penalty

Well said, Don Woodrow. I was already annoyed when Di Resta got his drive through. The guy is trying to pass and gives us a spectacle, and we reward him by giving him a drive through penalty. Then when Hamilton did the same thing, it was a given he was gonna get a stupid ass penalty as well. Shame. Respect for Schumacher knowing how much to close the door (which he did, but still left enough space for a car). Massa got what he deserved. That was pathetic the way he closed the door and got his car destroyed for it by not even opening after they touched. Was he hoping to crash both cars beyond recognition? What a douchebag. Lucky that crash in the tunnel didn't end up in injury.

F1 » Hamilton demoted

I'm actually surprised about this. I watched qualifying again, and we didn't see Hamilton cut the chicane. Halfway through his lap (after Perez's crash), the feed cuts to Jenson who does cut the chicane. Could it be a case of "we saw a McLaren cut a corner while Lewis was doing his best lap so let's penalize Lewis"? In any case, whoever's fault it is doesn't really matter. Speed wise, he should have been higher and that would have made for a better race. You can keep bashing Lewis, but don't complain when Vettel wraps up the Championship in a few races. Lewis is the best placed driver to fight him to keep the championship interesting long enough... Shame for him and shame for us...

F1 » KERS and tyres critical in Turkey, muse McLaren duo

If the 2011 McLaren and Red Bull cars are anything like last year's cars, then I think the Red Bull will wear less on its tires than the McLaren. That flexible (though legal) front wing was a MAJOR advantage in Turn Eight last year. The McLaren was all over the place coming out of Turn Eight. That can't be good to preserve this year's Pirelli tires. Providing that Red Bull have sorted out their KERS issue, I'm not holding my breath for McLaren to win this one...

WRC » IRC: Route confirmed for Tour de Corse

#1, I hope Miss France realizes what she's in for and likes to be thrown around in a car on winding roads. :-) #2, I'm glad that the Tour de Corse is making a come back. Not sure why the WRC decided to switch to Rallye d'Alsace for the Rallye de France, but I didn't really care for it. Other than being held in Loeb's region, it seems to be a carbon copy of Rally Deutschland. I like Rally Deutschland, but it doesn't mean I want 2 exact same rallyes, especially one right after the other during the season. It seems the WRC has lost its way, whether it be for cars or events... #3, Tour de Corse, Monte Carlo, and San Remo in the same championship? Love live the IRC, as far as I'm concerned.

F1 » 'Proud' Lopez: Petrov performance was not a one-off...

What's with the excuses for Heidfeld? He tangled with a TR at the start because he couldn't qualify up the grid... What was his excuse then? Schumi blocking him? Puhlease... He had 20 minutes to find a good lap to get out of Q1. Everybody that had the car for it did... Out with the old, in with the new. Let us see if Bruno Senna has what it takes with a decent car. Heidy doesn't. Never did, never will...

F1 » Petrov: I can lead Renault!

Can we all agree now that Nick Heidfeld is really overrated? Wasn't he supposed to be soooo much better at setting up the car, at racing (more experienced), plus he tested the Pirellis quite a bit so that was a great plus... Didn't work out so well in the end, now did it? I just wish they'd given Kubica's seat to Bruno Senna. At least we would have seen what the kid can do in a good car.
