F1 » Ecclestone, Brundle call for fans to 'keep faith' in F1

Personaly, I would like BE to just retire and the sport go back to 2002 regs. If they wish to blow engines at 20 thousand revs-fine. Want to blow trannys-fine. Want to over do a corner-fine. Put the racing back into the hands of the racers otherwise a semi-spec series, as we have now, will run off the fan base. Overtaking takes balls regardless of "turbulance." I say elimanate the rules except for weight then you will see innovation and racing regardless of the pissy tracks in Asia.

Please do not call me out Spagetti-but the dismal showing today is both rules and track. IE 200 yard runoffs, engine RULES, areo rules, weight rules, etc. It-F1-which I love by the way, is slowly becomming a spec series, just like almost all other car-related motorsport. It is so controlled as to be contrived in many ways. Oh, and the only reason I ever went to Tampa was to get parts, gamble or hit the bars after 1am. That does not include 7 mile creek by the way. Be good

2pac--1, most British F1 fans, at least on this site, hate Alonso. 2, read the posts for the last several months and you will see a total disregard for US racing, period. Nascar, IRL, etc. They do not even reconize NHRA or ALMS, and so on. IE, we are not up to their stuff. Fine, I have no problem with that but when a countryman of mine pretends and acts as a appologizer, I call him out. He had no responce except an apology for 'me' and not for his lackings. Spagetti boy but I can defend myself. Personaly I thought the race was a bore and we appear to be looking foward to more. Night all

You do not get it Eddie--Alonso won. That is why this thread is so busy. The British F1 fans hate Alonso period. Correction, as many like Alonso as like the Red boys. They have been rooting for months for USF1 to fail so another British/European based team could move in. Boring race, boring comments except that Shooey finished 6st after a 3 year layoff. Came in six with mostly wet testing. Cannot wait for Spa where extremely fast turns make the race and Shooey loves fast turns. Button fans must be sad..

SpagettiEddie--no way are you from Tampa. Living there mabey but that is all. I am raised St Pete and never have I been so embassesed. Please go jump in the now polluted Tampa Bay. Oh, and Spagetti, those fellows "across the pond" want absolutely nothing to do with Americans. Want to meet some Brits, go to a IRL race and get a driver's autograph.

Both F1 and IndyCar have slowly become boring over the last several years due to rule changes. Putting gas in race cars while changing tires is exciting due to probable mistakes and fuller pit roads. One car at a time just changing tires is a slow news day and removes pit strategy affecting the race. Perhaps reguiring 3 stops per race could fix it to a degree. However, requiring one stop per race for gas without tire changing ,"under green", could be a solution to the Ba-rain snooze-fest. Just a thought MM

Only one thing--the Red Guys are back this year and Mcl closer than thought. However, with no more strategys except drive safely this could be a long season. Perhaps I will begin to tune in at the halfway point for the remainder. I has to get better, could not be much worse, perhaps by the time we reach Spa
