WSBK » Silverstone - Free practice times (1)

As PP916 said, they are a long way from last years pace so it is a bit early to be getting excited... ..but it is still mighty impressive from both JT and John Hopkins. The HM Plant bikes were so far off the pace last year you can't help but wonder what has changed? Are the formulas (BSB/WSBK) now closer aligned than last year (i.e. tyres?) or does it mean that come Sunday the Samsung Crescent Suzuki will find itself waay back? Remember Sykes won a bsb at Brands last year but he was struggling for top tens. There IS a performance divide and I'm sure it'll show again this year. Not being negative, just realistic.

WSBK » de Puniet considering WSBK switch?

Randy, don't do it! Stick around for one more year and get a seat with a privately run CRT team. They'll be crying out for high profile, experienced riders- albeit ones that don't require a second mortgage to pay for repair bills... If next year doesn't work then go to WSBK, but please, give it a try next year on a 1000. Wouldn't surprise me if one Mr V Rossi makes the switch to WSBK in 2013.. I don't think he'll win a MotoGP championship again so will he want to be the only man to win 125,250,500,800,900 and WSBK titles?

F1 » Button: Since Canada, it’s been cr*p

The guy has had 3 mechanicals- give him a break! No, he's not Hamilton but do you want him to be? If LH had suffered those issues he'd go crazy! JB just mans up and gets on with it. Sponsor obligations? No problem, says JB. Can win races & WDC's? Yes and Yes. Fastest driver in the world? Maybe not, but deserves his seat without question.

WSBK » Toseland: I cannot wait to get out there

Well I'm not going to say anything nasty. Cal is showing just how hard MotoGP really is, as is Rossi at the moment. (And Elias too, for that matter). The 2011 Yamaha is better than the 2010 bike, and JT has had his fair share of bad luck- it all adds up to showing that JT hasn't fallen apart at the seams as some may suggest. Badovini is doing great things with the BMW- don't compare JT with that. Instead look at Haslam and Corser. JT, just ride around and make it to the finish. Worry about points later in the season...

F1 » Massa rues sticking wheel nut

Ok, the wheel nut didn't help but what did it cost him? 2 seconds? What about the 1hr 40min of racing and the previous pit stops, doesn't that count for something? It's a lot like a football team losing on penalties. Yes, you can blame it on the keeper but it's down to the team to ensure you don't need to go to penalties. He can't 'blame' 5th place on his final pitstop.

MotoGP » Pedrosa: I want to enjoy the bike

**roach, I'm afraid your grammar isn't much better... After "better rider" it should be a question mark, and the next part should be a new sentence. Also 'grammar' does not require a capital letter and your punctuation is extreme. Why so many commas? Anyway, the point of this is why criticise his grammar? Who is to say English is even his first language? Give the guy a break...

MotoGP » Andrea Dovizioso - Q&A

Guys, in the defence of Crash this is an FOC site and has to be funded somehow. Either pay £9.99 a month to use it, or expect to see adverts. They're not offensive, they're not intrusive and sometimes they're even relevant and useful! Ok, I'm not in the market for home insurance right now but often I've seen motorsport specific ads that have been of interest. Everybody's gotta earn a living...

MotoGP » Bautista: It felt like the tyre was on ice

People forget that in 2007 Suzuki were running Bridgestone whilst Honda & Yamaha were running Michelin- and in 07 Bridgestone were the tyre to have. I think Bautista is a great rider and it isn't fair to compare the 2011 season with 2007 when CV and JH were riding. Few other people could improve on what he's doing right now. The mystery for me is why the Suzuki can't generate the heat? The heat comes from the tyre working, so are the swingarm and chassis too flexible around the swing arm? Is the tyre carcass not compressing enough? Who knows? Nobody, it seems...
