MotoGP » Pedrosa second in race he considered missing

I think he looks genuinely happy on that podium- after people saying that Pedrosa doesn't show any expression it's refreshing to see him letting something out. I respect Dani so much. He's a very introvert character- much like Spies. Rossi and Lorenzo are great for the sport, very flamboyant. Stoner and Edwards say what they're thinking, whether it be good or bad. Rarely follow the PC line though! Dani and Ben don't give anything away, just get on with the business of racing. After the Honda throttle stuck open he could've thrown his toys out the pram but he dealt with it like a true professional. Not a PR sweetie but inside that Red Bull can is one litre of man up!

MotoGP » Charging Aoyama salvages best-ever finish

Aoyama is in my Fantasy Road Race team... ..but I'm going to let him go. I think he's a very skillful rider but doesn't seem to have that final 1% he needs to succeed in MotoGP. Yes, I know he's a 250cc world champ but they're a different breed of bike. Aoyama has finesse on a bike, probably the opposite of Stoner! He's not the ragged risk taker that Crutchlow, De Puniet or Barberra are. On Sunday this worked in his favour, but I think most of the time this won't be an asset for him. I think it's fair to assume this will be Aoyama's best result of the season and he'll be back to 11th/12th by Estoril.

MotoGP » Moto2: Bradley Smith hails ‘amazing’ fourth

People talk about the importance of beating your team mate, and Bradley is currently head and shoulders above Mike Di Meglio. In a class where it seems the FTR and the Suter are the bikes to be on, Bradley is doing an incredible job on the Tech 3. Either the bike is under rated or Bradley is making the difference... ..or perhaps a combination of both? Mature ride from Smith in tricky conditions which allowed the rider to really make a difference.

MotoGP » What can Stoner do at 'worst' circuit?

Mish Mash, one swallow doesn't make a summer! Winning two races out of 16, is better than none- but I believe Honda won the remaining 14! In 2003 Honda won, what, 15 out of 16 races? Honda were very, very good and no-one expected Rossi to do what he did in 2004. I'm a big Rossi fan and am convinced he'll win this year, but I'm also certain he is now the third fastest short circuit racer in the world. Stoner and Lorenzo have the measure of him. Stoner should of course be respected for changing bikes and performing, but when all 3 other riders are on the pace it doesn't have the same effect. Best results in 2004 for a Yam- one second, two thirds.

MotoGP » What can Stoner do at 'worst' circuit?

Davey, people have this idea of Rossi because of his 2004 season. In 2003 the Yamaha was really struggling, in 2004 it became a championship winner. People (rightly or wrongly) attribute this to Rossi, and thus was born the legend of Rossi's developmental skills. He's still got some magic in him, and I'm confident that the Ducati will come good... ..but just not this weekend!

WSBK » Badovini: I need Toseland's input

Personally I think this is being taken out of context. Aryton has been kind enough (and PC enough) to name check his team mate and say that things will move forward when they're both racing. The headline makes it sound like: " I need James to develop the bike, I can't do it, it's too much for one man, I don't know how etc etc" Of course BMW need as many riders out there as possible, but in all honesty, it's arguably a better bike than the Honda and Suzuki anyway..

WSBK » Sensational Melandri joins winners’ circle

I agree with Grantd a little... In the story it reads that Marco remarked he 'had a head cold'. Well he won the first race and got a second in the second! Why did he say that? To justify why he didn't win? It's crazy! He doesn't need to make excuses! Someone said that Melandri is the fastest rider on the planet, but only if it's a race that falls within a month when the sun aligns with the moon, and Jupiter is infront of Uranus... I agree. When it goes well, it's great. When it goes wrong, then it's very mediocre indeed.

MotoGP » Pedrosa shoulder not fully healed, doctors confirm

I hate this phrase 'arm chair rider'. I don't give a damn if someone rides or not- doesn't stop Toby Moody and Julian Ryder! For our purposes of discussing a sport we all enjoy it makes no difference. The only exceptions are current/former pro riders, doctors or senior technicians. I HAVE raced but does that make my opinion any more valid that someone elses? Nope.

MotoGP » Moto2: Smith exceeds expectations on debut

Bradley has been on the international scene for some time now. He's not a Spies or Lorenzo- instantly competetive from the word go. Rossi is regarded as one of the all time greats, but even he didn't win 125, 250 or 500 on his first try. He learns and gets faster. A top ten on a Tech Trois (mouth full!)is a great result. I'm sure he'll get a few top 6's this year, and maybe a podium if the bike improves? There is no shame sitting aorund the 10th mark in his first year, however, and compared to Scott you can tell Bradley's maturity.
