MotoGP » de Puniet provides hope for Ducati

A lot of people said that De Puniet would suit the Ducati thanks to his 'ride it like you stole it' style. I wasn't so sure... ..but this is a very impressive result considering the pace of the factory Honda's and there are four of those (maybe 5? Aoyama?) I bet LCR are missing Randy something rotten. How can Elias be at the back of the field on a Honda??!! The guy was the class of the Moto2 field and is a former GP winner!

MotoGP » Pedrosa’s pace plummets due to tyre problem

What a bunch of garbage from the usual nameless, faceless, mindless idiots on here. The guy has been consistantly second throughout testing and is comprehensively beating Dovi- how dare anyone say he should watch his back or up his game? Stoner is a force on nature and on fire at the moment- Pedrosa is still beating the reigning world champ, everyones's new favourite Spies, 2 other factory Honda's and of course Rossi + Hayden. Why should he be smiling in the photo? He's annoyed that his pace dropped off! He's not Colin Edwards- Pedrosa actually wants to win races! The media have created this image of an emotionless guy being controlled by Puig, and people buy into it. Open your eyes and make your own judgements. 2 years ago everybody called Casey 'Moaner', now people are ready to bow down in front of him!

F1 » Ecclestone: Green engines 'bad for F1'

Tough, isn't it? F1 needs to be seen to be environmentally conscious to continue to get big ticket corporate sponsorship, but it can't be at the detriment to the racing. It's also hoped that developing 'greener' race cars will lead to greener performance road cars. But it's a drop in the ocean compared to the resources used in running a team! Fuel for cargo planes, team trucks, the thousands of tyres thrown away, the energy required to power a wind tunnel etc etc... Doesn't really matter if the car does 50mpg or 5mpg, the carbon footprint of the race cars themselves is nothing compared to the operation as a whole.

RR » Isle of Man TT ‘world series’ proposed

Hmm, not so sure about this... To be successful at the TT you need to know the course inside and out. I think you'd find that as the series travelled around the globe, the locals riders would always dominate the home round. It's not like a 2 mile short circuit with 16 corners, track knowledge is absolutely vital. Unless you had a practice/testing program giving the riders 3 days to try and learn the circuit, I just don't see it working. Sorry to be negative, but just being realistic. Maybe if they capped other routes at 10miles (16km)and had the TT as the final event with double points?

MotoGP » Moto3 ECU supplier named

Moto3 isn't single make, so it's not up to Honda to produce RS125 engines. Like it or not, 4 stroke is the way forward- unless someone perfects 2 stroke direct injection? 2 strokes can't get though ever tightening emission regs, so there is little point further developing 2 stroke engines- that's why we have 250cc 4 strokes. Who knows? Maybe we'll one day see Moto3 replicas on the street? 130kg and 40 bhp? King of cornering!

MotoGP » Moto3 ECU supplier named

Yes, it is a shame to see the death of 2 stroke in GP but it's for the best. For the last few seasons 125 (and 250)has been at the mercy of Aprilia. If you didn't have a factory bike Aprilia/Gilera then you were nowhere. With Moto3 I'm hoping that the field will be a lot more level and with cheaper racing the future should be more rosey for the smallest GP class.

MotoGP » Spies happy, but Lorenzo goes slower

What a bunch of tosh on here... Why is it that if someone says something 'pro' or in support of a rider they become a fan (or fanboy), and if they say something positive about another rider they automatically become a 'hater'of everyone else? Ben's win in WSBK was impressive, and without a doubt he is a great talent. I'm just an armchair fan like most others here, but Ben is surpassing what I thought he was capable of given his experience. BUT I still think Lorenzo will come out on top, and if I was a betting man I would put money on Jorge for the title again. I'm neither fan nor hater of either.

MotoGP » Spies, Lorenzo encouraged by opening night

Proud Spaniard, if those times are right then I think you've just shined a light on things. Normally I agree that testing isn't fully indicative of race pace, but this is only 5 days before race weekend on the season opening track! I would love to see Pedrosa win the championship but how quickly we've forgotten the way in which Lorenzo dominated last year. The guy is a force to be reckoned with- fast and ruthless.
