MotoGP » Laverty second CRT on 'perfect' MotoGP debut

Wow. I am blown away. I'm a big fan of Ellison and was seriously disapointed when he lost the ride. I'd have put my mortgage on James being quicker than Michael in this environment... ..but I guess I was wrong and Paul Bird was right? As others have said, lets hope the PBM bike is as good as the ART one or else this could be a tragic shame. If Michael can build on this pace it could reignite his career.

MotoGP » Caught out in Qatar

Why does Bradley have a blog? Why not? For a start, he takes the time to do it- as fast as Casey Stoner was he'd not do something like this, Brad is a gent and an ambassador for the sport. We're so quick to turn on riders who aren't winning every week. Pedrosa is one of the fastest riders in the world but he still gets grief from the Crash keyboard warriors. Toseland was twice WSBK Champion but due to bad luck and injuries he had to walk away from the sport... ..accompanied by the cat calls from so-called fans. Be realistic, what do you expect from Brad? Rookie season in a series where the top 6 are Lorenzo, Pedrosa, Rossi, Marquez, Crutchlow and Bradl. 7th is as good as it's going to get- even that's discounting Dovi, who might actually get somewhere with the Ducati. Stick with it, Bradders.

MotoGP » Austin MotoGP: 'Dream' continues for record-breaking Marquez

The Marc Marquez Appreciation Thread! Yes, he is very, very good but people are making him sound like God in leathers. We knew from testing that he rocked at this place but Dani was only 2 seconds behind after 40 minutes of racing- hardly a white wash. Lorenzo smashed them both in Qatar so lets not get ahead of ourselves. Lest we also not forget that last year it was Pedrosa who regularly had the beating of Stoner so he's not exactly a slouch.... For what it's worth Pedrosa and Lorenzo are still the more complete racers in my opinion.

WSBK » 500GP winner Crafar joins Crescent Suzuki

Peter, I do agree but weirdly it's never as simple as that. Many riders out there have so much natural talent they find it hard to 'share' that ability with others. Marquez is an amazing talent but would he be an effective instructor at a race school? Possibly not. Crafar was never the fastest and even in his Motovudu video of Almeria he doesn't actually lap that quickly (1.48 I think?) but he does have the ability to study riding and pick up on where even the best can be better and go faster.

F1 » Your views: Time for a return to a tyre war?

Did this article go thorough a sub? The punctuation and grammar is a lil' bit shakey and it's not the easiest piece in the world to read. Joshua, good effort but don't feel you need to raid the dictionary and fill your writing with 'big' words just to add credibility. To paraphrase that Einstein guy, keep it simple but no simpler! As for the tyre war, I think they're just one problem amongst many. Control rubber is just that and I do believe it's good for a series- especially being a MotoGP fan and thinking back to Dunlop v Michelin v Bridgestone battle and how it affected racing. What gets my goat is that due to fuel saving strategies drivers can't give it the beans for full race distance. Need to either bring back refueling or remove the fuel saving tech so that teams build their cars to run with what they've got.

WSBK » Motorland Aragon - Free practice times (1)

You know what's impressive? Barrier did a 2m 1.07s this morning on the BMW Superstock bike. That's probably 35bhp less, road tyres, standard wheels, brakes, frame, subframe, fork externals and far more basic electronics. And I bet the STK bike is worth probably £30,00 compared to the £150,000+ superbike. A fifth of the price, only 2% slower on a lap. THAT's the direction SBK needs- far lower costs, less aids, a true return to production racing.

MotoGP » Bradley Smith seeking to crack the one-second barrier

How has he got this ride? Through many years of being a consistent GP finisher, race winner and biting his tongue when his Tech 3 Mistral obviously wasn't up to the job. There's nothing wrong with his times/pace and I think it's quite likely that as he adapts to the bike he'll be back in front of the Ducatis and sitting on the tail of Bradl. I think that's all you can ask from the kid?

MotoGP » Crutchlow: I expected to finish fifth

From the headline I expected to read a story about a non-plussed Cal almost giving a Gallic shrug... ..but instead Cal sounds upbeat and is really pleased with his performance (as he should be! 0.6 off Dani on a satellite bike? Excellent!) Top marks, Cal. Crash, maybe a lighter headline would've been nice? Perhaps: Crutchlow improves feeling, pleased with fifth?
