MotoGP » Moto2 v 250cc v WSS

fan.. yes, I understand we may not see 1000cc factory bikes because of the measly 21 litre rule, but we will see 1000cc CRT hotrods allowed 24l and to be honest, I can't see why they don't let them in this year, for development..Suter wanted to run at Valencia didn't they? If they're gonna stick with 600 for Moto2, lets have other engine makers and more horsepower. It's a shame there isn't a race 750 triple out there so all classes could run 81mm pistons from next year..should be able to get a reliable 160bhp out of one of those..and the sound, bliss!

Interesting topic and good on Crash and McLaren for getting the stats together.. It's difficult to draw meaningful comparrison between Moto2/WSS as Moto2 bikes back wheel power is reputed to be around 125bhp next to WSS @145. M2 weight is 135kg, WSS 161kg. WSS has more advanced electronics but run stock frames, the biggest factor is tyres with Moto2 allowed slicks and WSS runnning sticky street hoops. My point is..WSS are heavier and run street tyres but are still faster..How can Moto2 be regarded as the legitimate feeder to GP, especially when we go 1000cc next year? Ezpeleta will make sure the champ gets a ride, but will team managers look to recruit from there when SBK is more relevant?

Yes..Motegi, where JL picked a fight, when it would have been more sensible to leave it and think of the big picture..and not only did he get weighed in after starting it, but then went blubbing home to daddy Jarvis who felt compelled to back his boy by administering big bad bully Rossi a slap on the wrist with a bag of powdered jelly babies.. I dunno, kids today..

MotoGP » Your verdict: MotoGP Rider of the Year (Part 2)

Ali was one of my 1st sporting heros. I was too young to remember him fight before his ban, but do recall my dad dragging me out of bed to watch his comeback against Quarry. Despite that adulation, when he used to clown instead of fight, I'd get this uneasy sense of injustice and frustration. I've had that same feeling with Rossi a few times over the years and I know he's not perfect but he is the best I've seen in my lifetime.. This young crop are right up there with the best I've seen in GP too and will no doubt provide us with much entertainment when Val retires..but it's not over yet and they won't replace him. rick and fan..you are both right but nothing is meant vindictively, more to stir conciousness in the name of banter..merry Xmas to you all.

rick, OK..I'll try again without the specs on. The 3 examlples I gave could be added to Lo's win at Jerez, reeling in Rossi then Dani on a spluttering RCV trying to eake out it's last drop of fuel..Lo and Dani upfront in Germany and Lo's win at Valencia, until he rode away from Val, to make my top 6 which is really a top 5 as I've already mentioned Sachs...but Australia was a procession? apart from Rossi/Hayden. Most of lo's wins were cake-walks.. What's your top 6 then? ..all that was left for Rossi to do after Sepang was to finish in front of Stoner in the championship. Of course opinions differ and are subjective..but be honest, it would have been very dull if Val had come back at Brno, as anticipated, then not bothered with the fly-aways to have his shoulder fixed early, as was mooted..

What were the highlights this year? For me it was that titanic battle at Motegi where Rossi and Lo battled for the last podium spot.. then there was Sachsenring when Stoner reversed the result with Rossi..and what about Sepang, 11th to 1st to stand atop the rostrum, looking down at Lo while he took away his title must have been sweet.."I'm under your skin sucker." You saw 1st hand why Rossi is Rossi, and without him this season would have been as dull as dishwater.. He showed he still has what it takes, coming back from a broken leg and the 1st time he's missed races, to entertain you like that and all you want to do is Bitch?..like Lo did to Jarvis and Yamaha? I dunno..you guys!
