MotoGP » Ducati debuts: Rossi, Hayden, Melandri, Stoner

@horse "We've been working hard all year, and taking risks with set up at recent races, it paid off here." Casey had noted that he seemed to be further away from the screen than he wanted to be mid- corner, so he's moved his body position forward on the bike, shifted the engine back a little compensate and used a shorter swingarm. Looks like it works. Nicky Hayden, who was fourth and might have been on the front row but "didn't nail T3 as I'd have liked," said that Casey has moved towards his set up. It looks like Ducati's best weekend for a while. Ryder Notes, superbikeplanet, 18-9-10 Stoner won 3 of the last 6 GP on Haydens settings. What about Donington 09 when he insisted running wets..everyone else was on slicks. Hayden was forced to run wets too. Ducati came an embarrassing last and Stoner went sick..his words ringing in our ears.."he's so lucky, even when he falls he get's back on to finish fifth.."

My point was with regard to the season and how Casey does less practice laps than anyone else and keeps falling early in races, maybe if he did a few more laps concentrating on a race set up rather than looking for pole, he might do a bit better! Stoner completed 5843km in practice for all 18 rounds the same as Vale who missed 4 rounds. Dani @6215km missed 2 and Jorge @7286km did all 18. At the Valencia GP weekend it was JL@412km, VR@408km, DP@396km, CS@308. I wonder if Honda will let him loaf around while they're trying to win the last ever 800 title?

Been checking prices on BetFinder for next years championship.. In tenth @250/1 is DePuniet. Fifteenth is Crutchlow @300/1..Bob, any of your pals in the bookie trade? I'm thinking it will be a dead cert for longer odds on Val your neck?..better than his 5/2 second fav. behind Jorge @15/8 and in front of Casey @7/2 Crikey! Imagine if Casey had put the effort in to do a few more laps..he may have got his head round riding the bike on a full tank? Har hardy har..

Stoners feedback or Ducatis engineering? it seems a bit of both because GP is a team sport. The Desmosedici has come a long way since 07 with it's CF frame and big bang motor..which were Preziosi's call, big changes. As No.1 Casey had the option to reject or, to develop/use different spec parts. Hayden has said he didn't always agree with the 'stiff' setup Stoner preferred and has shown the bike can be ridden by another, he's not an alien either. Now Rossi wants a softer front before he lights the blue touch paper. Casey was very young and pretty green when thrust into that main roll and maybe all he wanted to do was ride the 5hit out of it? If he stays on the Honda next year and does well, it will make a point, till then the jury's out for me.

Casey is now on the right bike to try and stop the personal results rot, Without question he's very fast..but there is a question mark about his development skills and feedback..The Ducati is hardly an allrounder? To imply Ducati wouldn't spend, on what he wanted to make the bike better and are only doing so now beaucse of Val, is simplistic and naive and pre supposes he could have done it at any time..if not for big bad Ducati.

EDIT by CRASH.NET: Try again without the rider dissing and accusations of dishonesty. Posted by wosideg (10 hours ago) Last Edited 8 hours ago Just got back in to see my post has been deleted? There was No rider dissing or me calling any one a liar. Me..referred to Vale as a 'dropout'..I pointed out to him/her that this seemed a "bit strong coming from a Casey fan after 2009" and Caseys time off with illness. Nothing more, nothing less. Casey did 'drop out' of the 2009 championship CRASH, which I take it you're aware of? so I'm not dissing him now am I? If you aren't au fait with the 09 season, how the hell did you get the moderators job? The reasoning behind all this editing is well intentioned but if you're gonna start taking down harmless post..no name calling, swearing or accusations?
