MotoGP » Rossi: Sepang comments changed nothing

At Phillip Island, Lorenzo was slower than Vinales and 5th fastest.. Rossi's best lap was nearly 4 tenths faster than Lorenzo's best.. PI is 27 laps, Rossi went quicker than Lorenzo 16 laps out of 27 and 7 of those laps were faster than Lorenzo's best lap of the race.. Iannone went faster than Lorenzo's best lap 5 times.. Strange how Lorenzo managed to lead, out of trouble and away from the main battle behind him - for a vast majority of the race - finishing in front of significantly faster riders?

@Luvtheracing.. Qualifying? That's convenient. Shall we talk about how Rossi out-qualified Jorge at Sepang? VR struggled to keep in touch? 3 times Lorenzo was gifted a gap by Marquez and 3 times he came back to the faster riders because he didn't have their pace. The Yamaha's obvious lack of top speed was key to Marquez' plan.. He always allowed Lorenzo a big enough gap coming onto the home straight and consistently backed Rossi up into a drag race with faster bikes. The thing is mate, all you Lorenzo and Marquez apologist said Valentino didn't have the pace and made the whole story up at the press conference, when it's quite clear he did have the pace to beat Jorge.

Yes with the massive tow Iannone gave him! I remember it well. He had Iannone help him throghout all the FPs, I guess as payment for beating him in PI.
Erm, No actually.. Rossi's fast Q2 lap was set on his own.. Lorenzo's fast Q2 lap benefitted from a Marquez tow. Oh dear..

Rossi out-qualified Lorenzo in Malaysia.. In normal circumstances.. How often does Val out-qualify Jorge, then finish behind him in the race? Not a regular occurrence is it.. Only once in 2014 and never 2015.. On the other hand, Lorenzo out-qualified Rossi 7 times Saturday only for the Italian to turn things around and beat him Sunday.. - Rossi made things happen raceday.. kind of a trademark. He was very close to, if not faster than Jorge's pace over the last three rounds.. Simple as.

@Yearby.. Care to post some stats? I think Crash posted the times up after the race and it didn't correlate with your claims... Care to do your own research, then watch the race again with a cool head perhaps a little more objectively? You argue the toss about Rossi's pace, without informing yourself of facts that are freely available. Go and do your homework, then we''ll talk..

MotoGP » Rossi: Yamaha 'a little in delay' with ’16 preparations

@ Codger.. My point was, I don't think it would have mattered much if 46 out-qualified 99 and had the start.. Rossi approaches race weekend differently to Jorge. We know given the opportunity that Lorenzo builds his race preparation towards pole, getting a fast start, building a gap.. then holding on to his tyres. Rossi is the opposite.. and it didn't serve him too bad last year. @ Yearby.. Your point about points points to what?
