F1 » Bridgestone to quit F1

Anyone else fed up with this "shall we or sharnt we" attitude of car manufacturers? If they are serious about the sport "belonging to them", then they need to commit. They can't just pop in when times are good and pop out when times are hard. The sport should be viable and cost effective and they should commit to it. F1 is not an advertising campaign that you do one year, and do not do another year. It is a sport and community, NOT something that should be left at the mercy of impassionate marketing and finance departments of large corporations looking to increase their image and make a quick buck. Otherwise the manufacturers in FOTA should be quiet and let a neutral body control F1.

F1 » Button: I want to break the F1 mould

I like Jenson - I met him in an airport lounge once, and he was very friendly. He's a nice guy who can drive a car smoothly. HOWEVER. Will he win next year? I doubt it. No diffuser advantage, a competitive McLaren and Ferrari, the continued threat from Redbull and co? It's hard to see how next year he will be able to over power the likes of Vettel, Alonso and Hamilton (and maybe even Raikkonen if he gets a McL drive.) Nevertheless it doesn't take anything away from his achievements this year... well done Jenson, some people will say you were lucky - but luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity. You were prepared for the opportunity that presented itself in '09!

F1 » Rossi: Former F1 champ Raikkonen 'is not very fast'

It wouldn't surprise me if this actually happened! Rossi and Alonso in a Ferrari F1 car - no problem. Rossi and Alonso in a Fiat Rally car - no problem. Only issue would be which bike they used... If it happened, my bet would be that they'd use a superbike like Yamaha R1 or Ducati 1098... rather than MotoGP. Unlikely, but nice fantasy.
